1914 is a band that first came to the attention of music lovers in 2014. Some 3-5 years ago, the Lviv group was known only in close circles. Gradually, the band became another important Ukrainian metal export: their tracks are listened to far beyond the borders of their native country, and fans of heavy music, who have been with them since 2014, simply adore what the artists are doing now.
The guys work in such an unusual genre for Ukrainian listeners as blackned death-metal. The musicians were even more talked about after the release of the LP The Blind Leading The Blind, which disappeared from popular streaming services almost immediately after the release.

History of creation and composition 1914
We repeat: the team was founded in 2014 on the territory of Lviv (Ukraine). At the origins of the group is an incredibly talented and versatile person - Dmitry "Kumar" Ternuschak. The band's leader came to the rescue: bassist from Ambivalence, drummer from Kroda and guitarist Skinhate.
During the creation of a common project, not all musicians were familiar with each other. Almost everyone who became part of 1914 had other projects behind them. For example, the band's frontman tried his hand at punk. When Kumar spoke about the concept of the new team, the guys realized that they wanted to take part in the development of an interesting project.

The name "1914" mentally transports music lovers and fans to military operations on July 28, 1914. The leader of the group admits that some fans bring all sorts of “interesting things” from wartime to concerts.
Creative way and music of the group 1914
In 2014, the musicians recorded the first demos and distributed them on the Internet. Then the artists hurried to go with the accumulated material to the Lviv club "Starushka". The warm welcome of the local audience motivated the musicians not to deviate from the chosen path.
A year later, the musical work Caught In The Crossfire was included in the top British compilation Helvete 4: Disciples Of Hate. Such a move speaks at least about the quality of the tracks produced by the Ukrainian team.
Further from 1914 representatives of the French label contacted. The artists were offered to mix their debut LP at the studio and sign a contract with the company. Perhaps that would have been the case if Archaic Sound had not intervened. The Ukrainian label offered the musicians more favorable conditions. Soon the artists started recording their debut album.
In 2014, the premiere of the long-awaited disc from the Ukrainian team took place. The collection was called Eschatology of War. Most of the compositions that were included in the LP begin and end with the sounds of war: motivational introductions of the chiefs, the roar of battle, the ominous rumble of airships over London. By the way, one old Englishwoman who survived one of the first air attacks on her native town tells about them Zeppelin Raids.
Kumar says that the most valuable find for him is the performances of Kemal Atatürk, which can be heard in Ottoman Rise. Among the dozen tracks of the Eschatology of War LP, several (War in and War out) are original military marches that were included in the intro and outro of the album. After the premiere of the record, the musicians received offers to visit festivals in the Czech Republic and France.
Concert activity of the group
Next, the guys were waiting for concerts, constant traveling, long rehearsals, and of course, work on material for a new studio album. Fans, however, had to be patient, since the musicians presented the second studio album only in 2018.
The second studio album was called The Blind Leading the Blind. At the beginning of the year, the presented longplay of Lviv metalworkers suddenly disappeared from all streaming services.
As it turned out, the band did this in anticipation of the re-release of the record in May 2019 on the new Napalm Records label. In support of this re-release, the artists also presented their debut video.
Soon the premiere of the video for the track C'est Mon Dernier Pigeon took place. The video was directed by Artyom Pronov. The video is dedicated to a serious topic - the events of the First World War.
1914: today
In August 2021, the artists presented a video for the track …And A Cross Now Marks His Place. According to the musicians, the composition will be included in the band's new LP. The guys also said that the premiere of the collection is scheduled for October.
The Ukrainian group 1914 did not disappoint the fans' expectations. In October, the musicians pleased with the release of Where Fear And Weapons Meet on a very good record label. Recall that this is the third studio album by the Ukrainian band.
