The History of Abortion Brain

The creators of the group, the composers and performers of the songs of the Abort Brain collective, were guitarist Roman Semyonov "Bashka". And also his beloved vocalist Natalya Semyonova, better known under the pseudonym "Sabrina Amo".

Inspired by the songs of the popular Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, the musicians wanted to release songs in the industrial style. However, the love of young people for the study of psychology changed plans a little. Having come up with an extravagant name - "Abortion of the Brain" and having rehearsed a simple concert program, unknown stars began to perform at venues in Ulan-Ude and nearby cities of the Republic of Buryatia.

The listeners of the group immediately noted the peculiar manner of the vocalist's performance: a rough voice, not characteristic of an ordinary girl, and disgusting howls. At the beginning of the creative path, the Orthodox Church of Buryatia through the press accused the team of Satanism and sectarian activity. Despite this, the musicians had a large number of listeners in different cities of Russia and abroad.

First years of career

In the early 2000s, the art of Brain Abortion was fashionable and extraordinary, which aroused genuine interest among the creative public. In 2003, the team released their first cassette "Rainbow", which included 9 songs:

  • Rainbow;
  • The wound of being;
  • GeraYin;
  • Eternal stump;
  • Rabbit's foot;
  • Wench;
  • Chromancy;
  • Libido.

The debut collection attracted a lot of attention: someone attributed the band's work to the "emo-core" style, while the rest suggested that the musicians adhere to the "dark punk" style. The collection "Rainbow" was released with the help of the musicians' own finances, so only 500 copies were made. But this did not become an obstacle for the beginning group.

After 2 years, the group recorded the second album "Crutch". However, after the active announcement, it was never published. Despite this, many compositions from the second album were still included in several domestic collections, such as: "Punk Occupation", "Punk Erection". The songs were also included in the Russian Punk Cannonade Internet Chart.
