Rock band Adrenaline Mob (AM) is one of the star projects of renowned musicians Mike Portnoy and vocalist Russell Allen. In collaboration with current Fozzy guitarists Richie Ward, Mike Orlando and Paul DiLeo, the supergroup began its creative journey in the first quarter of 2011.
First mini-album Adrenaline Mob
The supergroup of professionals released their debut mini-album "Adrenaline Mob" EP in the first days of August. It was necessary to play a large number of concerts for promotion, but Fozzy's touring schedule did not allow Mike, Richie and Paul to combine work in Adrenaline Mob. Their choice turned out to be Fozzy, and they were replaced in 2012 by bass player John Moyer.
Adrenaline Mob: Album "Omertà"
In March 2012, the first full-length music album "Omerta" was released. It was recorded by three musicians: Portnoy, Orlando and Allen. All musical guitar parts were recorded by virtuoso guitarist Mike Orlando. The guy clearly played the bass guitar.
The disc was recorded at the Century Media recording studio and took a modest 70th place on the Billboard 200 chart. And the reviews were different, this album did not receive full approval from fans and critics. While on a European tour, a bus with musicians in Spain had an accident. The driver was killed, the musicians received minor injuries.
Adrenaline Mob: Album "Men of Honor"
In June 2013, one of the founders, Mike Portnoy, left the team. His new project The Winery Dogs took a lot of time and was more interesting. A replacement was found only in December. AJ Pero, drummer of Twisted Sister, took over on drums. This composition recorded the second album "Men of Honor".
In the years that followed, the band's line-up underwent even more changes. In August 2014, John Moyer announced that he would not go on tour. The strangest thing about this story is that the musicians found out about it from social networks. John notified his fans on Facebook and Twitter, but did not bother to notify his colleagues. Adrenaline Mob was not forgiven for such neglect. Casting for the vacant seat was immediately announced.
So Eric Leonhardt appeared in the supergroup. But the most dramatic change came after Perot's death. AJ passed away from a heart attack while on tour in 2015. Death occurred in the tour bus musicians.
Adrenaline Mob: Album "We the People"
In the wake of the US presidential election, on June 2, 2017, the third Adrenaline Mob album, We the People, is released. At the same time, a replacement took place in the group again and new members appeared - bass guitarist David "Dave Z" Zablidowski and drummer Jordan Cannata. The album turned out to be a killer. Russell's cosmic vocals, Orlando's guitar virtuosity, lyrics - it was exactly what Mobs fans have been waiting for. The fans were delighted.
Car accident
Unfortunately, work in Adrenaline Mob was the last for David Zablidowski. In July 2017, while on tour, the band got into a car accident. The accident happened in Florida. About 10 people were injured in the collision. In the photographs from the accident site, everything looked as if a bomb had exploded and no one survived.
The bus was on fire, the survivors were getting out of the fire, and among them was vocalist Russell Allen. Among those badly injured was Mike Orlando, but David Zablidowski and band manager Janet Raines were killed. Mike's orange guitar, which was damaged in the accident, was restored and now Orlando does not part with it.
A wave of misfortunes and deaths seemed to follow AM, and at the end of 2017 the team broke up.
New projects by Mike Orlando
Mike Orlando was saved from depression by a new project. The band, featuring guitarist, Adrenaline Mob, Mike Orlando and drummer Jordan Cannata, bassist, Disturbed, John Moyer, and rock star, Supernova, singer Lucas Rossi, was named Stereo Satellite. The debut performance of the group took place on January 23, 2018.
Projects of ex-participants after the accident
On February 1, 2019, Mike Orlando released his solo album: the Sonic Stomp CD.
With the group Noturnall participated in a tour of the cities of Russia.
In 2020, another project of the ex-member appeared - Her Chariot Awaits, together with the Spanish vocalist Eileen. The tandem represents an amazing product of quality hard rock/heavy metal music. On the label Frontiers Music Srl. On April 10, the debut album was released, enthusiastically received by admirers of the musicians' talent. According to critics and the project participants themselves, this is a new step in their musical career.
Russell Allen continued his career in the project of Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel and John Oliva "Trans-Siberian Orchestra". TSO is a rock symphony orchestra. Year after year, TSO hits the top of the domestic and world tour charts. Russell Allen, with his cosmic vocals, was the perfect performer.
Despite the fact that the group Adrenaline Mob lasted to insultingly little, she left her mark on the world of rock. Three full-length albums, many videos of concerts and the memory of the fans. It was a stellar supergroup, with a happy start and a dramatic ending to the story.
