The birth of the popularity of the singer Aida Vedischeva

Despite the active creative activity and the bright voice of the artist, she did not become famous. In 1966, everything changed. The film by Leonid Gaidai "Prisoner of the Caucasus" was released. Here the main character sings in the voice of Aida Vedischeva "The Song of the Bears".

The sweet song had a dizzying popular success. But the Soviet authorities put a taboo, declaring the composition vulgar. It was not the authors who were accused of this, but the performer. Vedischeva was not even indicated in the credits of the film, which was a real blow for the artist.

Participation in the international festival

A year after the first success, Vedischeva sang the song "Geese, Geese." With this composition, she performed at the international music festival, which was held in the Polish city of Sopot. The stormy reaction of the audience of the analogue of the Eurovision Song Contest inspired the singer. The participation of the artist in this festival was the reason for the persecution of her work.

While shooting the film "The Diamond Hand", Gaidai again invited Vedischeva to record musical accompaniment. In the film, "Volcano of Passions" is performed in her voice. The performer and this time had a popular success. Vedischeva again received a warning from the authorities about the inappropriateness of such creativity.

The singer managed to slightly improve the situation in the early 1970s. At the All-Union Competition, Aida Vedischeva sang the song "Comrade". The work deservedly took 1st place, and the singer received the Komsomol Prize. "Comrade" became a youth hit, which was sung by the whole country.

Difficulties on the way to success

By the mid-1970s, the singer's repertoire had accumulated many hits. Most of them are compositions from movies and cartoons. Both adults and children are well aware of "Chunga-Changa", "Lullaby of the bear", "Forest deer" and other songs of the artist. The success with the audience was overshadowed by a negative attitude from the authorities.

Vedischeva was excluded from the credits, the songs were not allowed on television. And the most difficult thing was the restriction of concert activity. Gradually, the name of the artist disappeared from the posters, and all records were destroyed.

Tired of the endless attacks from the authorities, in 1980 Vedischeva decided to immigrate. The singer saw scope for creative development in the USA. The decision was facilitated by fluency in the language, as well as Jewish origin. The singer decided to start moving with training. She enrolled in theater college.

Having met with producer Joe Franklin, the singer organized a solo program at the famous Carnegie Hall concert hall. New York became the first refuge of the singer. But soon, due to health problems, the singer had to move to sunny California. Here the artist created her own theater. Broadway productions became Vedischeva's specialty, the music for which she often wrote herself.
