Amel Bent is a name well known to fans of R&B music and soul. This girl loudly declared herself in the mid-2000s. And since then she has been one of the most famous French singers of the XNUMXth century.
The early years of Amel Bent
Amel was born on June 21, 1985 in La Courneuve (a small French town). Has a very mixed origin. Her father is from Algeria and her mother is Moroccan. Initially, Amel did not plan to become a singer. She was trained in psychology and sincerely interested in this topic and planned to develop in it.
However, the girl always had a love for music. Even as a child, she loved to listen to tapes for hours and try to sing on her own. While studying at school, this addiction was noticed by the teacher Bent and advised her to go study vocals. The fact that the teacher appreciated the girl's talent motivated her to take up music. From that moment on, Amel took vocal lessons and began to actively engage in it on her own.
On the way to the first album
In the early 2000s, the girl began to make active attempts to “break through” to the music scene. In particular, she applied for participation in various competitions and TV shows. And in the end, fortune smiled at her - the young singer was accepted to the Nouvelle Star project. Here she participated in several editions and almost made it to the final. Bent did not take 1st place, but well-known producers invited the young talent to audition.
One of the French labels decided to sign a contract to release the album. Amel started recording her debut disc. Events developed quickly, and already in the same 2004 she released the disc Un Jour D'été.
Already very famous after her participation in the famous television show, Amel managed to win nationwide popularity and the love of the French public immediately after the release of the first disc. The debut solo album sold a huge circulation - almost 700 thousand copies. This is the first "platinum" in the treasury of the aspiring singer.
The release was preceded by a number of singles that played a significant role in popularizing Bent's work. Chief among them was the single Ma Philosophie. It was the first official song by a female artist recorded and released professionally and was her most successful. This song alone sold over 500 copies.
The song received active rotation on the radio stations of the country, topped many charts. This song attracted the main attention of the listeners, it was she who showed that the audience was really waiting for the singer's album.
Thanks to her debut album, the artist received a number of prestigious music awards. The girl was called the "Main Find of 2005", she was invited to various concerts and festivals. The performer actively developed a "fan" base in France and Europe.
She managed to contribute to the creation of the film "Asterix and the Vikings". The girl recorded one of the main soundtracks for the film, which contributed to an increase in her popularity outside of France.
Album À 20 ans
Two and a half years after the release of the debut disc, the second one appeared on sale. The album was a real leap up. The release of À 20 ans was no less successful in terms of sales. However, the main thing that the singer has gained thanks to him is international fame. Now the performer was known thousands of kilometers from her native Paris.
European countries began to send the singer proposals for concerts. She visited Germany, Switzerland, Poland. Several times she came to Russia with concerts, where she also found many fans of her work.
There is nothing to say about glory in his native country. As part of the tour in support of the album, I had to organize a second concert in Paris - the public liked her work so much.
From 2008 to 2009 Bent has released a number of successful singles and soundtracks. The songs sold well on digital platforms, they hit the charts in France and Europe. The girl shot a video to increase interest in upcoming releases. However, there hasn't been a new album behind it yet.
Où Je Vais was released in 2010. Despite the fact that he showed more modest numbers compared to previous discs (150 thousand versus 650 thousand), this was an excellent result in relation to the overall decline in sales in the music market. The album allowed the singer to go on a full-fledged world tour (by the way, the last concert of the tour took place in Russia).
In 2011, a new Délit Mineur record was released. Perhaps this is the first release that can be called a "failure" in terms of sales. The fact is that the public did not like the first single Je Reste very much. The result is an overall decline in sales.
However, from 2011 to 2013 the artist released two more successful solo albums, which allowed her to regain lost positions. In the mid-2010s, she led an active concert activity, periodically arranging solo concerts and performing at various festivals.
Singer Amel Bent now
Today she is busy with her family life, but periodically continues to record new compositions and gives concerts in European countries at very large venues.
