The history of the creation and composition of the group August Burns Red
August Burns Red is a band from the USA. It all started with the fact that school friends decided to create a band and bring their philosophical verses to the world of heavy music.
Since 2003, the group began its professional activity.

Even before the formation of the group, the musicians played at local church venues. Thanks to this experience, the musicians gained their first fans.
The group's first vocalist was John Hershey, it was he who suggested the name August Burns Red. The fact is that a former friend of August burned his dog named Redd (Redd).
This event was not ignored by journalists. Then in all local newspapers there were inscriptions: August Burns Redd (“August burned Redd”).
A little later, the soloists decided to remove the second letter "d" from the last word. Thus, the updated name in translation means "August burns red."
The musical tastes of the soloists of the new group are a real assortment. They balanced from Meshuggah and Unearth to Coldplay and Death Cab for Cutie.
But the soloists of August Burns Red themselves said that their work was influenced by the works of Hopesfall.
Music by August Burns Red
A year after the official year of creation, the musicians presented a demo disc. Later, the guys signed a contract with the prestigious CI Records label (The Juliana Theory, Once Nothing).
It was on this label that the band released their debut mini-album Looks Fragile After All EP. After the presentation of the debut collection, the musicians began to give their first professional performances.
At one of these concerts, the band noticed the label Solid State Records (Demon Hunter, Underoath, Norma Jean). The organizers of the label offered to conclude a contract on more favorable terms.
The guys agreed, and already in the Dark Horse recording studio, together with the Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dee, who acted as a sound producer, the musicians began recording the next collection.
Soon fans were enjoying the musical compositions of the new album, which was called Thrill Seeker (“Thrill Seekers”).
The album went on sale in 2005. The musical compositions of the new collection can only be described as technical metalcore.
Popularity Recognition
The first track of the album was the song Your Little Suburbia Is In Ruins. The composition, as it were, placed the necessary accents. Those who had previously doubted the professionalism of the August Burns Red band threw all doubts away.
The new group gained the status of a bright, original, Christian metalcore team. After the presentation of the studio album, the musicians went on a big tour.
In general, in 2005-2006. August Burns Red Purple traveled all over the world. In addition, the musicians visited the Door Festival along with The Showbread, Norma Jean, The Showdown and others.
In 2007, August Burns Red's discography was replenished with the next album, Messengers (“Messengers”), which the musicians wrote on the album at the Rebel Waltz Studio recording studio with the participation of Danish sound producer Tui Madsen.
The name of the new album Messengers means "messenger" in translation, this makes sense. All the soloists of the group, without exception, took part in the recording of the collection. Each of the musicians put their own message.
The musical composition Truth Of A Liar became the band's first song that got into rotation. The main hit of the Messengers record was the track Composure. Later, the musicians presented a video clip for the song, which got into rotation on MTV2.
About 9 copies of the Messengers album were sold in a week. The collection started from the 81st position of the Billboard Top 200 chart. Another important event was the publication of the band's photo in the popular Christian Music Magazine.
At the end of 2007, it became known that the new collection was released with a circulation of 50 copies. The following year, August Burns Red toured with As I Lay Dying and Still Remains.
Conquering Europe
In the spring of the same 2008, the group delighted European music lovers with their performances. The group August Burns Red had plans to conquer Europe before. However, attempts to conquer the Europeans were "failed."
In 2009, the band's discography was replenished with the collection Constellations. A video clip was shot for the musical composition Medler, which got into the rotation of some music channels. Not without concerts in honor of the release of the new album.
2011 was no less productive. This year the musicians presented their new album Leveler to the fans. The tracks included in the album were dominated by the ideas of Constellations with its lightness.
In addition, elements of Messengers are clearly audible with its trademark "pumps" and blast beats, as well as hard rock solos and melodic inserts. In 2011, the team actively toured.
A year later, the group released the so-called "Christmas album" Sleddin' Hill. The album contains 13 tracks in total.
Music lovers especially liked the musical compositions "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and "Snowfall". Commercially, the album was a success.
2013 was marked by the release of the full-length album Rescue & Restore. The album contained 11 tracks. This album is a confirmation that the band has not lost the positive features of its predecessors, bringing a little something new to the world of metalcore.
From the new album, you can highlight such tracks as: Provision, Spirit Breaker, Fault Line and Animal.
In 2015, the band's discography was replenished with the album Found in Far Away Places. The musicians wrote the collection under the wing of the Fearless label. The compilation was released on June 29, 2015 by Fearless Records and produced by Carson Slovakia and Grant McFarland.
2017 marked the release of the eighth Phantom Anthem collection. The album turned out absolutely in the usual style of the band, but the high sound distinguishes it from the previous ones for the better.
August Burns Red today
In 2019, the musicians presented the Phantom Sessions EP. This mini-collection consisted of only 5 musical compositions. The record was presented on February 8, 2019 by Fearless Records in the Melodic Metalcore genre. The guys released video clips for some tracks.
In the same 2019, it became known that fans will be able to listen to a full-fledged collection already in 2020.
The musicians kept their word. In 2020, August Burns Red's discography has been replenished with a new album, Guardians. The album contains 13 tracks. Guitarist JB Brubaker commented:
“I remember Jake telling me while listening to the eighth studio album: “Yes, the tracks are very cool, but I feel that this collection is definitely not as heavy as Phantom Anthem or Found In Far Away Places.” Then I thought that the songs of these compilations are really heavy ... but, damn it, maybe they lack explosive fireworks? Then Dustin and I thought, 'OK, we'd better write some super-heavy stuff for the last songs.'"
And it also deserves considerable attention that fans are waiting for a number of "juicy" video clips. But most of all, the "fans" are waiting for the band's concerts.
The band's upcoming performances will take place in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, France, Spain, the Czech Republic and the United States of America.
