Artist's childhood David Garrett

Garrett is a pseudonym for a musician. David Christian was born on September 4, 1980 in the German city of Aachen. During the first concerts, the son of a lawyer and a talented ballerina with American roots decided to use his mother's more melodic maiden name.

Father Bongartz was known as a tyrant, so he did not indulge in the attention and love of his children. He was strict, never showed his feelings and forbade all family members to do this. Only the mother was affectionate with the children, so they loved her with all their hearts.

A tough and conservative father chose closed home schooling for his son. He categorically forbade the boy to have friends and communicate with peers, only brother and sister were an exception.

Communication with friends to David was completely replaced by playing the violin. Garrett became interested in music when he picked up his brother's violin. The game captivated the young violinist so much that after the first year of study, the boy participated in the competition of performers, even received the main prize.

The beginning of a musical career

In 1992, the British violinist Ida Handel invited him to play with her in concert. At the age of 13, the budding German was greeted with a standing ovation along with his idol Yehudi Menuhin, whom he succeeded in playing the violin.

The boy quickly became famous in Germany and Holland. German President Richard von Weizsacker himself noticed the talent of the young star and invited him to show all his skills in his residence. It was there that Garrett became the owner of a Stradivarius violin, which he received from the hands of the first person in the country.

Record company managers in 1994 drew attention to young talent and offered David a joint collaboration. At the age of seventeen, Garrett became a student, choosing to study at King's College London.

However, the concerts of the German were very popular and there was practically no time left to visit the educational institution. The violinist dropped out of college after only six months.

At the age of 19, in the capital of Germany, David shone as a guest soloist of the Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra. After that, the talented violinist introduced his work to the participants of the Expo 2000 exhibition.

However, Garrett's musical tastes began to change - the young man became interested in rock. Listening to the compositions of AC/DC, Metallica and Queen, he decided to try to combine the classics with extreme and unusual elements.

In 1999, David decided to enter the Juilliard School, and for this he had to move to live in America. However, the parents were against this decision of their son.

This caused a quarrel with the family, and in an instant David had to become a grown man. Paying bills forced him not only to wash dishes in restaurants, but even to clean toilets.

The lack of money forced the handsome young man to go into the modeling business. In 2007, Garrett became the face of Montegrappa, a company that made luxury pens. As part of the presentations, the musician traveled to America, Italy and Japan, giving short but memorable concerts.

Recording the first albums

In 2007 the violinist recorded his first albums Free and Virtuoso. The 2008 album Encore combines Garrett's favorite compositions with his own arrangements. Then David formed his own band and went on tour with it.

The musician, according to him, does not like obsessive fans, because he believes that a woman needs to be sought. However, as the violinist admits, he plans to start a family and raise children in love and understanding.

The man says little about his parents, but thanks his mother for raising him as an economic and clean person.
