The childhood and youth of Vincent Damon Fournier

Little Alice Cooper was born on February 4, 1948 in a Protestant family. Perhaps it was the rejection of the religious lifestyle of the parents that influenced the boy's preferences in music.

At birth, his parents chose a different name for him - Vincent Damon Fournier. His ancestors were French Huguenots who settled in Detroit, where the boy was born.

School education of the first stage Vincent received in the church where his parents and grandfather served. He later moved with his family to permanent residence in Phoenix. There he continued his studies and graduated from high school.

It was in Phoenix that the boy was diagnosed with health problems. He almost died from peritonitis, but thanks to the prayers of loved ones he survived.

Vincent showed himself as a creative person during his school years. He wrote well, worked on the newspaper, creating articles. He was also interested in the work of famous surrealist artists.

But most of all he was interested in music. Together with classmates, Alice Cooper founded a musical group that became famous at school for its unusual antics on stage.

The success of the guys was obvious, because their hit Don't Blow Your Mind hit the radio and was liked by thousands of listeners. In the future, the boy continued to develop in this direction and continued to rehearse with the group.

Musical activities of Alice Cooper

When Vincent was 19 years old, his dream came true - the group was invited to travel around the cities and perform concerts.

The group changed its name several times, as groups with this name already existed. It was then that the pseudonym Alice Cooper appeared. The guy borrowed it from a witch from the Middle Ages, who was burned for witchcraft.

Thanks to the unusual choice of the name of the group, it was necessary to come up with a stage image of the spirit of the old witch, who moved into the musician and speaks in his voice.

So Vincent managed to found a new direction - shock rock, which became new for rock music lovers. A musician and artist to the depths of his soul, a man-search, a man-experiment, a musician-rainbow - this is how you can characterize him.

The group's activities were so shocking and new that Cooper's antics in concert were perceived a little ambiguously. Many spectators left the hall. But this only encouraged the musicians, and they did what they wanted.

Such a reaction of the audience "incited" the future director of the group, and he decided to take the guys under his wing, feeling future success and glory.

1970 became a victorious year for the group, as they recorded their first successful disc Love It To Death, followed by three platinum albums. The songs Luney Tune, Blue Turk and Public Animal became the biggest hits of the time.

Alice Cooper solo career

At 26, the artist decided that he had outgrown the group. He went on a solo "swimming". His concerts began to arouse the interest of the public, because with his outrageous behavior he shocked everyone.

Aggression sounded in his songs, he aggressively painted, dressed in bright clothes, used real animal blood, electric chairs and chains instead of props.

Most of the concerts were held for him in a fog, because he became a victim of alcohol and drug addiction. Drinking and partying continued day after day, until one day he was taken to the hospital with an overdose. It was then that the musician for the first time was very afraid for his life.

In the early 1980s, the artist realized that he had greatly undermined his health and decided to go to the clinic for treatment. For a long time he did not appear in the music industry and he was forgotten a little. But he did not waste time in vain, but was looking for new inspiration.

The personal life of an artist

The young singer was the dream of all girls, so he changed his passions like gloves. A stormy personal life turned his head, but the first serious relationship ended tragically. Model Miss Christine died of a drug overdose in his arms.

He had many civil wives - the first sued him because of his money, the second was a Hollywood actress, and the last wife was a dancer from his ensemble. It was she who was able to win his heart and marry her.

The poor thing endured the drunkenness of the artist for many years, but all patience comes to an end. Cheryl filed for divorce.

After some time, Vincent underwent a course of treatment, changed his lifestyle, and his ex-wife forgave him all the insults. Today they are together again, they have two daughters and a son.
