The Ukrainian group DILEMMA from Kyiv, which records compositions in such genres as hip-hop and R'n'B, took part as a participant in the National selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
True, in the end, the young performer Konstantin Bocharov, who performed under the stage name Melovin, became the winner of the selection. Of course, the guys were not very upset and continued to compose and record new songs.
The history of the creation of the DILEMMA group
The popular Ukrainian band DILEMMA was founded in 2002. Members of the group (Zhenya and Vlad) worked with young people in the House of Children's Creativity in Kyiv, teaching them how to breakdance.
Over time, the guys met Maria, who was teaching vocals (he became the main one). Young people decided to join forces, created a team and called it DILEMMA.

- Zhenya Bardachenko (Jay B). He studied at a music school (guitar class). He is a graduate of the Kyiv National Economic University (specialty "Economics of enterprises"). He is actively involved in sports - figure skating, breakdancing and karate. It was Eugene who became the ideological, creative inspirer of the team. He is a connoisseur of the culture of Western countries.
- Vlad Filippov (Master). He graduated from the music school, where he studied percussion instruments, as well as the Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University. Together with Zhenya, he participated in the dance break-dance group Back 2 floor. Eugene and Masha consider him the "heart and soul" of their musical "gang".
Unfortunately, little is known about Maria (stage name - Malysh). She is a professional vocal teacher at the House of Children's Creativity.
The beginning of the creative path of the group
The creative career of the DILEMMA team changed a lot after meeting the famous Ukrainian sound producer Viktor Mandrivnyk.
Under his tireless and professional guidance, the young guys recorded their first disc "Tse is ours!". The album contains 15 songs. To support him, video clips were shot for 3 songs.
Then, together with Oleg Skrypka (soloist of the Vopli Vidoplyasova group), the hip-hop group DILEMMA recorded the song "Lito". The single sounded for a long time from all radio receivers in the country, and it still sounds.
Due to its popularity, the team was invited to participate in numerous City Days, Youth Days and other national holidays.
In addition, the young group was invited to perform at the Tavria Games festival. The trio's concerts have always attracted numerous fans of the hip-hop and R'n'B genres.
In 2008, a new (second in a row) disc by Segnorota appeared on the Ukrainian music market.
In the same year, the DILEMMA team became the winner of the Show time R'n'B / Hip-Hop Awards (nomination "Best R'n'B Video"). A year later, the soloist Masha "Baby" left the group.
Several years of silence
Until 2012, young guys recorded new songs, performed at concerts, and toured Ukraine. However, then there were five years of silence of the collective.
The fact is that Vlad Filippov (Master) ended up in a rehabilitation center. At this time, Zhenya Bordachenko (Jay B) tried to develop a solo career.
After Vlad Filippov went through rehabilitation, the guys thought about what kind of music to write next. There was a so-called "creative crisis".
Then DJ Nata appeared in the team. She also became the main vocalist of the pop group. The guys and the girl continued to record new compositions. The band's sound producer was Tomasz Lukacs.
Together with Ivan Dorn, the guys recorded the song "Hey Babe", which became popular and took a leading position in the charts on many Ukrainian radio stations.

As a result, the pop group decided to pass the national selection for participation in the European music contest Eurovision 2018.
According to the members of the trio, they wanted to prove to all music lovers and to themselves that there are many bands in Ukraine that create high-quality dance music. True, as you know, as a result of the selection, the trio did not get votes and did not get to Lisbon.

Vlad has been skiing since the age of 7. He got a job as a rowing slalom instructor. In 2010, the DILEMMA band released a song together with the famous US band Crazy Town.
For some time, the pop group collaborated with the sound producer of the Black Eyed Peas Family.
The team still performs and tours, but refuses New Year's corporate parties. On New Year's holidays, children prefer to spend time with families and friends.
