Gerald Earl Gillum was born on May 24, 1989 in Oakland, California. G-Eazy started his music career as a producer. Back when he was still at Loyola University in New Orleans.
At the same time, he joined the hip-hop group The Bay Boyz. Released several songs on the band's official Myspace page.
G Easy was hugely popular in 2010. He was given the opportunity to work with such famous artists as Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg.
G-Eazy: How did it all start?
It all started during the university, when he began to study music diligently. He received some recognition for his involvement in the hip hop scene in the East Bay area. There he joined artists such as Lil B, Crohn and The Cataracs.
During his early years, he became a member of local hip hop group The Bay Boyz. The band has released several songs on their official Myspace page.
In 2010, G-Eazy became popular when he was given the opportunity to open up to some established artists, most notably Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg.
The singer's mixtapes during this period were met with little success, but in August 2011, when he posted The Endless Summer on his official website, popularity increased dramatically.
Several songs were sampled on the mixtape, most notably Dion DiMucci's remastered version of the popular 1 US #1961 song Runaround Sue, which has over 4 million views on YouTube.
Also notable is the music video for Runaround Sue (featuring Devon Baldwin), which was directed by Tyler Yee. The mixtape included guest appearances by artists such as Greg Banks, Erica Flores and Devon Baldwin. In November 2011, Gillum embarked on a national tour with Shwayze.
On June 16, 2012, G-Eazy performed in the US at the annual Vans Warped Tour. On July 25, 2012, an unusual musical tour was announced, featuring Hoodie Allen and G-Eazy. They have performed in various US cities, including Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Columbus, Des Moines, New Orleans, Atlanta, Austin and Philadelphia.
Release of the first album of G.I.S.
On September 26, 2012, the artist released his first full-length album, Must Be Nice. The album, which was completely independent from the label, peaked at number 3 on the iTunes hip hop chart. On July 9, 2013, G-Eazy and 2 Chainz performed for Lil Wayne on the America's Most Wanted Tour. On December 15, 2013, G-Eazy and Master Chen B performed Lotta That from the movie Things Happen in New York.

2014-2016: This Things Happen and When It's Dark Out albums
On June 23, 2014, G-Eazy released his debut album through the major label This Things Happen. The album peaked at number 1 on the US Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B and Top Rap Albums charts, and peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard 200 and Top Digital Albums chart. The album was sold with a circulation of almost 265 thousand copies.
On October 21, 2014, the singer embarked on the From the Gulf to the Universe tour. The singer has traveled all over the world, even to countries like Australia and New Zealand. This was his first headlining tour abroad.
In the summer of 2015, he took part in several main stages at famous music festivals, where he performed: Lollapalooza, Electric Forest, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Made in America and Austin City Limits.
On December 4, 2015 Gerald's second album When It's Dark Out was released. On January 6, 2016, G-Eazy began his second world tour. This time he performed in the United States, Europe and Australia.
His single Me, Myself, and I, in collaboration with Bebe Rexha, peaked at number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100. He co-topped the Endless Summer Tour with rappers like Logic along with YG actors and Yo Gotti since June to August.
Also that year, G-Eazy announced that he would be releasing a new mixtape, Endless Summer II, but canceled it due to sample cleanup issues. To make up for the "fans", the singer released a joint track Britney Spears Make Me....
The single was released on 15 July 2016 and served as the lead single from Britney's ninth studio album Glory. The artist performed Make Me... and Me, Myself & I with Britney at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards and the 2016 iHeart Radio Music Festival.
2017: Step Brothers and The Beautiful & Damned albums
On March 27, 2017, the rapper released an EP with Dj Carnage Step Brothers. G-Eazy has released his new single with singer Kehlani Good Life.
This track served as the soundtrack to The Fate of Rage, the eighth part of The Fast and the Furious.
Gerald also featured on Dillon Francis' new single Say Less. On June 14, 2017, G-Eazy revealed via Instagram and Twitter that his next studio album, The Beautiful & Damned, would be released in Fall 2017.
On November 8, 2017, the official release date was announced as December 15, and also announced that an accompanying short film would be added to it.
Prior to this, the rapper was awarded the Favorite Hip-Hop Artist Award at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2017. On December 5, 2017, G-Eazy released his second single The Beautiful & Damned Him & I with Halsey.
After that, he broke up with Lana Del Rey and there were rumors that he was dating Halsey. The couple later confirmed the news by appearing together at New York Fashion Week 2017.
