Gerald Earl Gillum was born on May 24, 1989 in Oakland, California. G-Eazy started his music career as a producer. Back when he was still at Loyola University in New Orleans.

G-Eazy: How did it all start?

It all started during the university, when he began to study music diligently. He received some recognition for his involvement in the hip hop scene in the East Bay area. There he joined artists such as Lil B, Crohn and The Cataracs.

During his early years, he became a member of local hip hop group The Bay Boyz. The band has released several songs on their official Myspace page.

In 2010, G-Eazy became popular when he was given the opportunity to open up to some established artists, most notably Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg.

The singer's mixtapes during this period were met with little success, but in August 2011, when he posted The Endless Summer on his official website, popularity increased dramatically.

Several songs were sampled on the mixtape, most notably Dion DiMucci's remastered version of the popular 1 US #1961 song Runaround Sue, which has over 4 million views on YouTube.

Also notable is the music video for Runaround Sue (featuring Devon Baldwin), which was directed by Tyler Yee. The mixtape included guest appearances by artists such as Greg Banks, Erica Flores and Devon Baldwin. In November 2011, Gillum embarked on a national tour with Shwayze.

On June 16, 2012, G-Eazy performed in the US at the annual Vans Warped Tour. On July 25, 2012, an unusual musical tour was announced, featuring Hoodie Allen and G-Eazy. The album was sold with a circulation of almost 265 thousand copies.

On October 21, 2014, the singer embarked on the From the Gulf to the Universe tour. The singer has traveled all over the world, even to countries like Australia and New Zealand. This was his first headlining tour abroad.

In the summer of 2015, he took part in several main stages at famous music festivals, where he performed: Lollapalooza, Electric Forest, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Made in America and Austin City Limits.

On March 27, 2017, the rapper released an EP with Dj Carnage Step Brothers. G-Eazy has released his new single with singer Kehlani Good Life.

This track served as the soundtrack to The Fate of Rage, the eighth part of The Fast and the Furious.

Gerald also featured on Dillon Francis' new single Say Less. On June 14, 2017, G-Eazy revealed via Instagram and Twitter that his next studio album, The Beautiful & Damned, would be released in Fall 2017.

On November 8, 2017, the official release date was announced as December 15, and also announced that an accompanying short film would be added to it.

Prior to this, the rapper was awarded the Favorite Hip-Hop Artist Award at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2017. On December 5, 2017, G-Eazy released his second single The Beautiful & Damned Him & I with Halsey.
