Hurricane is a popular Serbian band that represented their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. The group is also known under the creative pseudonym Hurricane Girls.
Members of the musical group prefer to work in the genres of pop and R&B. Despite the fact that the team has been conquering the music industry since 2017, they managed to gather a fairly large army of fans.
Founding history and composition of Hurricane
The team has a rather interesting history of formation. It is known that the group was brought together by the popular Serbian politician Zoran Milinkovic in November 2017.
The team is a trio, which includes the following members:
- Sanya Vucic;
- Ivana Nikolic;
- Ksenia Knezhevich.
Each of the presented participants already had experience in the music industry. So, Sanya Vucic, a year before the foundation of the project, represented the country at the Eurovision Song Contest. Ivana is a professional dancer who has been conquering the stage since 2016. Ksenia also represented Serbia at Eurovision in 2015.
The trio inspires the work of such popular artists as Rihanna, Beyoncé and Quincy Jones. Zoran managed to create a unique team - the girls "sang" perfectly. Plus, they look incredibly harmonious on stage.
The creative path and music of Hurricane
In 2017, the band's debut single premiered. We are talking about the musical composition Irma, Maria (with the participation of Danjah). The girl managed to catch the hearts of music lovers - the trio was in the spotlight.
The musical innovations did not end there. In 2018, the group presented several singles at once. The songs Feel Right and Personal deserve special attention.
2019 was no less eventful. This year three presented compositions: Pain in Your Eyes, Magic Night, Favorito and Avantura. In 2020, the number of views of the video for the Favorito track on YouTube video hosting exceeded 40 million. In March 2020, the band recorded 18 pieces of music, including several covers of their own tracks.
Qualifying round "Eurovision-2020"
At the beginning of January 2020, Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS) published the list of the Beovizia 2020 festival, the national selection round for Eurovision 2020. Among the contenders for participation in the song contest was a girl group with the track Hasta la vista.
At the end of February of the same 2020, it became known that it was Hurricane who would represent their country at Eurovision. Their performance impressed the judges and the audience.
At the same time, three appeared on local television and told what specific goals they set for themselves:
“We plan to win the song contest. Our team will try to do everything to glorify Serbia…”.
The girls were disappointed. In the same 2020, it became known that the organizers of Eurovision canceled the event. This decision was taken against the backdrop of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. But, there was also good news - Hurricane will attend the event in 2021.
Hurricane: Our days
In 2021, the group did go to Eurovision. Representatives of Serbia in the finals of the song contest performed with the track Loco Loco. Hurricane finished in 15th place with 102 points.
