The video clip, where charming 10-year-olds harmoniously perform an incendiary dance, has gained millions of views. This is what helped the soloist Loalva become famous all over the planet.

The hit instantly topped all the charts. This composition also reached the CIS. Many, after listening to the song and watching the video, tried to repeat the legendary movements.

But, unfortunately, the fate of the main acting figure of the Kaoma group was not rosy.

Loalva's career and the Kaoma band

Since childhood, Loalva Braz has become interested in music. Her parents were people from the musical field. His father was a conductor, and his mother was a professional pianist.

From childhood, they instilled in their daughter a love of music and playing musical instruments. Already at the age of 4, Loalva masterfully owned the piano, and at the age of 13 she began to sing.

Initially, the girl was invited to perform at a nightclub in Rio de Janeiro. There, she entertained the local audience with incendiary motives, but this did not last long.

After all, the Braves once attracted Brazilian artists Gilberto and Cayetana Veloso. After the performance, they offered her a joint recording of songs. Loalva agreed.

In 1985, the girl moved to the capital of France and performed here with the author's show Brésilen Fête, which was a huge success.

Debut Lambada conquered the world

In 1989, the performer's career took off. She became the soloist of the musical group Kaoma, and a few months later the very song “Lambada” was recorded, which became one of the most famous hits in many countries.

The premiere took place on TV in France, and a day later Europe learned about this composition.

It's been less than 7 days and the song has already shipped to the US. There, the group signed multi-million dollar contracts with local companies. The legendary single was released with a circulation of 25 million copies.

But in Japan, this group and their song were initially banned. But time passed, and "Lambada" also captured the land of the rising sun. This fashion also came to the Soviet Union. The legendary dance was even studied in Soviet schools.

You can also remember the hare from the cartoon "Well, wait a minute!", Also performing the song "Lambada". In addition, the text of this song, or rather its translation, was published in the Pionerskaya Pravda newspaper.

But along with the success, there were some difficulties. So, after the presentation of the composition "Lambada", the musical group began to be accused of plagiarism.

Allegedly, their creation was a cover version of the song Chorando Se Foi from the Brazilian singer Marcia Ferreira in 1986.

There was even a trial during which the Kaoma group was found to be the guilty party, and the members of the team had to pay decent compensation.

While part of Kaoma, Loalva made three records. Then she decided to start a solo career, presented a similar number of albums.
