The end of the 90s and the beginning of 2000 is the period when really bold and extraordinary projects appeared on television. Today, television is no longer a place where new stars can appear. This is because the Internet is the platform for the birth of singers and musical groups. In the early 2000s, one of the most advanced musical projects was the Star Factory. Millions of caring spectators watched the young performers from TV screens. In 2002, a new musical group was born, which had a rather strange name. Yes, we are talking about the boy band Korni.
Roots at one time endowed noise. Attractive guys with sweet voices immediately won the love of the fairer sex. Well, it's time to dig deeper, finding out what those very Roots are.
History and composition of the musical group
The composition of the Korni group was approved by one of the greatest producers of our time, Igor Matvienko. He actually was the head of the "Star Factory".
Under his wing, he took completely different in appearance performers. And so the Korni group was formed.
The first composition of the musical group included such soloists as: Alexander Berdnikov (21.03.81, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan), Alexei Kabanov (05.04.83, Moscow, Russia), Pavel Artemiev (28.02.83, Olomouc, Czech Republic) and Alexander Astashenok ( 08.11.81, Orenburg, Russia).
Actually, in this composition, the guys won the main musical project of Russia "Star Factory".
After the victory, the soloists of the group wanted to continue to pump their boy band in the same lineup. Roots began to actively tour and participate in various festivals.
The first changes in the composition of the group
In this composition, the Roots recorded albums and performed until 2010. And then there were some changes.
The musical group was left by Alexander Astashenok and Pavel Artemyev, who decided to take up solo work, and Dmitry Pakulichev became the new soloist of the now Korni trio.
Music critics note that the first composition of the musical group was very harmonious. The same opinion is shared by numerous fans who for a long time did not accept either the face or the voice of Dmitry Pakulichev.
Alexander Astashenok and Pavel Artemiev continue to realize themselves as solo artists. Young performers do not deny that the success they had during the Roots period does not accompany them.
There were rumors that Alexander left the group at the insistence of his wife, who, by the way, is 13 years older than him.
The peak of the popularity of the musical group Korni
Having won at the "Star Factory", the wards of Igor Matvienko Roots went to Cannes. There, the musical group acted as "ambassadors" of the Russian Federation at the Eurobest music competition.
The singers performed the hit of the past years "We will rock you". The guys won an honorable 6th place.
Returning to their homeland almost as winners, the guys immediately started recording musical compositions. In 2003, Roots released their debut album, which was called "For the Ages".
On this disc, top musical compositions were placed, which to this day have not lost popularity. We are talking about the tracks “The birch was crying”, “You will recognize her”, “I am losing my roots” and “Happy Birthday, Vika”.
Roots spent the whole of 2004 on tour, which the guys organized in support of their debut album. In addition, Roots starred for glossy fashion and youth magazines.
The first video clips of the Roots were filmed for popular compositions. In addition, the musicians received the first Golden Gramophone statuette.
The song "Happy Birthday, Vika" brought victory to the musical group.
Diaries of the Roots group
A year after receiving the award, the musicians will present their second record. The second album was called "Diaries". The second album is something like the exposure of the singers' own souls.
According to the idea of the producer of the group Matvienko, the performers had to show themselves as they really are - without makeup, a forced smile and rehearsed movements.
Matvienko made a bet that the guys really do not look alike. It was interesting for listeners to "reveal" each soloist of Roots.
The result of this musical experiment was an album, the tracks in which were conditionally divided into 4 groups - that is, according to the number of participants.
But, there was a song in this album that united the singers. Yes, yes, we are talking about a track that will also receive the Golden Gramophone award. We are talking about the musical composition "25th Floor".
Presentation in high school and coolness of critics
The guys presented the record "Diaries" in an ordinary metropolitan school in Russia, which was another strategic move by the producer.
Music critics and fans of Korney's work accepted the band's tracks with a little coolness. But anyway, we singled out a couple of songs that for a long time occupied a leading position in the Russian music charts.
In 2006, the musical composition "With the wind for distillation" sounded in the youth series "Kadetstvo", and rushed. The popularity of the group has increased several times.
Then, almost every teenager knew the words of this song by heart.
In the same year, a pleasant collaboration took place between the Roots and the then-unknown graduate of Star Factory 5, Victoria Daineko.
The musicians recorded a common song "Do you want me to sing". Later, a video clip was also recorded for this track.
And already in 2007, the musical composition of the Roots underwent several changes, but it sounded in the Russian family series Happy Together.
In the same period of time, active preparations were underway for a tour of the United States, held the following year.
A new wave of popularity and renewal of the group
The year 2009 turned out to be no less fruitful for musicians. They create a powerful track "Petal", which almost immediately hit the first line of the Russian charts.
In the same year, the guys recorded the soundtrack for Konchalovsky's cartoon Our Masha and the Magic Nut.
By 2010, Roots' contract with the producer ended, so two of the participants made a difficult decision for themselves and left the musical group.
To find a replacement for a beloved musician, the search is conducted by an assistant of a musical group by writing an ad on the Internet.
The name of the new member was kept secret for a long time. Only then was it announced to the fans that they could not find a worthy candidate.
But still, the choice of the organizers of the group fell on the attractive Dima Pakulichev.
Becoming a member of the musical group, Dmitry immediately set to work. With the participation of this artist, 2 musical compositions were released at once - “It Can’t Be”, and a little later, the hit “This is not spam”.
A year later, the musical group participates in the Star Factory: Return project, and a year later it receives the Golden Gramophone for the song Just Love, recorded together with the Lyube and In2nation groups. "Simply Love" became the soundtrack to the film by Janik Faiziev ("Turkish Gambit", "The Legend of Kolovrat") "August. Eighth."
Roots is a Russian team that does not change its traditions. The guys sing exclusively pop music. But, sometimes they manage to go beyond the limits set by the producer.
So, the Internet is full of covers of musicians, where they sing rock compositions. Soloists admitted that they have a special love for this musical direction.

- In the New Year's project of the First Channel "First House" (2007), the guys sang Ricardo Foli's song "Storie di tutti i giorni", only in Russian.
- Members of the musical group appeared in the series "Happy Together". In the series, they did not have to "wear" someone else's clothes. They played themselves.
- The name of the group was invented by the producer Igor Matvienko. The musicians themselves say that “roots” are something that is forever. They see a deep philosophical meaning in the title.
For this period of time, it cannot be said that this boy band is number one.
The guys presented their last album in 2005. But, they are the very "oldies" of the pop scene who are invited to music festivals and themed concerts.
Roots group now
After changes in the composition of the musical group, the popularity of the Korni team began to decline.
Fans expected that the guys would continue to perform in the same spirit, but it turned out that the tracks of the Roots acquired a completely different “shade”.
Alexey Kabanov commented on it like this:
“The former team worked solely because of the contract. And the “new” Roots worked for the idea.” Such a post appeared on the soloist of the musical group on Facebook.
Today, the musical group is not heard or seen. Perhaps only the old hits of the group are popular.
Producer Matvienko is busy pumping other projects. This does not upset the soloists of the group at all, as they are engaged in their personal lives.
The members of the Roots group have already started families for a long time. They are increasingly performing at various festive events.
On February 4, one of the most anticipated LPs of 2022 was released. The musicians presented the "fans" a new studio album. The album was called Requiem. The 33-minute disc contains 9 tracks. Requiem is Korn's fourteenth album.
