"Metal Corrosion" is a cult Soviet, and later Russian band that creates music with a combination of different metal styles. The group is known not only for high-quality tracks, but also for defiant, scandalous behavior on stage. “Metal corrosion” is a provocation, a scandal and a challenge to society.
At the origins of the team is the talented Sergei Troitsky, aka Spider. And, yes, Sergey continues to shock the public with his work in 2020. It is interesting, but true - more than 40 musicians have visited the Metal Corrosion group during the existence of the group. And each of the soloists preferred to use a creative pseudonym (nickname) than to perform under real names.
The spider has been “chopping” metal for more than 25 years, and it seems that he is not going to retire. In one of his interviews, Sergey Troitsky said that what he became was influenced by the work of groups: Iron Maiden, Venom, Black Sabbath, The Who, Metallica, Sex Pistols, Motӧrhead and Mercyful Fate.
The history of the creation of the "Metal Corrosion" group
The history of the Corrosion of Metal group began with the fact that a teenager Sergei Troitsky heard the songs of The Beatles and Kiss in a children's camp. Spider literally from the first chords “fell in love” with magical music, and then, with all the money that his mother gave for food, he bought pirated recordings of foreign artists.
Sergey Troitsky was inspired by the "heaviness" of the sound of Led Zeppelin. He decided to create his own rock band together with his comrades - Andrei "Bob" and Vadim "Morg". Then even this trio of musicians was not united by the common name "Metal Corrosion". The only thing that seized the musicians was the desire to play hard rock.
A little later, Sergei Troitsky bought a low-quality guitar with an amplifier, and Vadim stole several drums from his school. The rest of the percussion was made from improvised materials. The musicians began to play a half-hard rock-half-punk cacophony.
In the early 1980s, Spider wanted to learn how to play the guitar. At first, the musicians in full force went to the Palace of Pioneers, to the acoustic guitar class. In the fall of 1982, Sergei Troitsky and his comrades moved to the pioneer vocal and instrumental ensemble.
This time was enough for the musicians to master the virtuoso guitar playing. Then the trinity kicked out several guys and a keyboardist from the team. The guys worked on creating their own repertoire, they focused on heavy music.
Around the same time period, the Spider met the musicians from the Cruise group. He attended the rehearsals of the guys. After joining the world of heavy music, Sergey finally realized that it was time to work hard on the repertoire and look for the individual style of the Metal Corrosion group.
A significant turn of development was the time when the band performed "on the warm-up" of local and already popular rockers. The performances of young musicians shocked the audience. And here the first trouble arose - Troitsky and his team were forbidden to speak. Soon Spider released the collection "Viy", which, unfortunately, was not released by any recording studio.
The band's name has an interesting history. In the mid-1980s, Sergei Troitsky took chemistry exams at a local school. The young man came across ticket number 22, and he read the following: "Metal corrosion corrodes machine tools and nuts, hinders the construction of communism."
What he read inspired the musician, so he decided to name the new band Metal Corrosion. At the same time, the vocalist and bassist went to serve in the army, leaving the guitarist Spider and drummer Morg alone.
The first official concert of the group "Corrosion of metal"
In 1985, the first official concert of the Corrosion Metal group took place. The group performed not on a large and luxurious stage, but in the basement of ZhEK No. 2.
According to the memoirs of Troitsky: "The local janitor snitched on us at the police station, and soon our performance was completed." After the performance of the fourth track in a row, the police and the KGB broke into the basement. The saddest thing is not that the musicians were taken to the police, and the concert was interrupted, but that the equipment was broken.
The creative activity of the members of the Metal Corrosion group made a significant contribution to the life of society, to the development of national rock culture and art. At that time there was little such provocation. Musicians successfully used the benefits of shocking. They have gained many fans. The furious and carbon monoxide music of the Corrosion of Metal group increases good spirits and immerses listeners in the wonderful world of heavy music.
To legalize their work, the Metal Corrosion group became part of the Moscow Rock Laboratory. During this period of time, three musicians tried on the role of the band's vocalist, but not one of them stayed for a long time. In 1987, the role of the vocalist went to Borov, the Spider switched to bass guitar, and Alexander Bondarenko (Lasher) became the drummer.
In this composition, the musicians presented the debut video clip for the track "AIDS". At the same time, the guys recorded their first live album, Life in October. The Corrosion of Metal group was active in touring. Interested in musicians.
Interestingly, the Corrosion of Metal group is the first group in the Soviet Union that began to use a theatrical and mystical production at its concerts, together with the most fashionable sex show of naked ladies.
The audience was delighted with what was happening on the stage during the performance of the Metal Corrosion band. Flying coffins, ghouls, witches, psychiatric patients... and lots of blood on stage.
Presentation of debut magnetic albums
In the late 1980s, the team, together with the D.I.V. starred in Karen Shakhnazarov's film City Zero. The musicians were entrusted to play the role of wax dolls. For rockers it was a good experience.
At the same time, the discography of the Metal Corrosion group was replenished with three magnetic albums at once. We are talking about the collections "The Order of Satan", Russian Vodka and President. The albums came out with the help of Stas Namin. Collections were illegally distributed by "pirates".
The first legal and official collections came out after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Albums were recorded at SNC studios, Sintez Records and Ri Tonis.
In the early 1990s, Sergei Troitsky became the founder of the Hard Rock Corporation organization. The purpose of the corporation is the organization of metal festivals. At festivals and solo concerts of the Metal Corrosion group, viewers could see everything: corpses, naked strippers, a sea of alcohol.

In 1994, vocalist Borov presented the album Black Label, which Borov recorded with the Alisa band. Four years later, the vocalist left the Metal Corrosion group. There are several versions why Borov decided to leave. According to one version, the singer began to have disagreements with the Spider, according to another, the man suffered from drug addiction.
Fans accepted the first version, because after the departure of Borov, almost the entire “golden composition” left the “Corrosion of Metal” group: Alexander “Lasher” Bondarenko, Vadim “Sax” Mikhailov, Roman “Crutch” Lebedev; as well as Maxim "Python" Trefan, Alexander Solomatin and Andrey Shatunovsky. The spider was not taken aback and began to independently perform tracks.
At that time, such musical directions as industrial metal were popular. Troitsky did not miss the chance to use the popular trend in his work. True, the Spider did this with a certain irony.
Despite frank humor and sarcasm, the musical compositions of the Metal Corrosion group became interesting for ultra-right youth - skinheads and nationalists.
The team took part in political activities. The Corrosion of Metal group is a frequent guest of music festivals: Rock Against Drugs, Rock Against AIDS (AntiAIDS).

Troitsky, aka Spider, decided to leave the recording studio SNC, Polymax and BP. At this time, Sergey "Bald" Taidakov was engaged in the processing of musical compositions, in which all the members of his "golden" composition also dispersed.
At the end of the 1990s and until now, the Corrosion of Metal group recorded tracks at their own recording studio, due to legal problems caused by the performance and recording of the tracks "Niger" and "Beat the devils - save Russia."
In 2008, the discography of the Metal Corrosion group was replenished with the collection Russian Vodka - American Release. The musicians recorded this album on the popular American label Vinyl and Winds.
After the presentation of the disc, it became known that Mityai had decided to leave the Metal Corrosion group. The fact is that the musician has long dreamed of a solo project, and in 2008 he gained strength to realize his plans. Konstantin Vikhrev became the band's current vocalist.
In 2015, the Metal Corrosion group celebrated its 30th anniversary. The musicians celebrated this event with a tour. Each performance of the band was accompanied by extravaganza and splash of emotions.

In 2016, it became known that all the collections of the Metal Corrosion collective were officially banned for download on the popular Apple iTunes Store, Google Play Music and Yandex. Music.
This event was due to the fact that Troitsky and his tracks were recognized as extremist. Despite the court rulings, the Spider was not going to leave the stage. He freely continued to give concerts, but at the same time he had accumulated many lawsuits. Troitsky ignored the established court decision, which subsequently caused the blocking of his accounts.
In September, at the invitation of a fan, Troitsky went to Montenegro to rest in a country house. On September 3, a fire broke out in the house, which caused damage to property. Troitsky was accused of deliberately setting fire to the house. In the fall, the Spider was declared guilty, and put behind bars for 10 months. The Metal Corrosion group temporarily stopped performing and generally disappeared from sight.
For Troitsky, such a court decision was a real shock. He demanded to be placed in a separate cell. The spider feared for his life, so it was much "easier" for the musician to sit alone.
In addition, Troitsky constantly wrote to "fans" to send him books. His weakness is not only music, but also literature. In 2017, when the Spider was released, the concert activity of the Metal Corrosion group was resumed.
In the summer of 2017, Andrey Laptev, former musician of the Epidemic band and vocalist of Laptev's Epidemia, reunited the so-called "golden line-up" of the Metal Corrosion band.
The "golden line-up" included: Sergey Vysokosov (Borov), Roman Lebedev (Crutch) and Alexander Bondarenko (Lizard). Crutch switched from guitar to bass. The musicians decided to join forces to perform for Russian and foreign fans with their program.
In addition, it became known that in 2020 all restrictions on the Metal Corrosion group were lifted. Therefore, the albums of your favorite band could again be downloaded from Internet sites. The group's compilations are labeled Explicit (18+).
