On December 4, 1931, the son of Leo was born in the family of pilot Pavel Barashkov and Anastasia Barashkova. The future musician was born in Moscow, but the family lived in Lyubertsy. The boy's childhood took place in the Moscow region, where his father's military unit was located.
Leo grew up with a desire to be like dad in everything. He was very proud of him and believed that his father was the strongest and most courageous. It is not surprising that the boy imitated his father and also wanted to become a pilot. When the Great Patriotic War began, the little Leo had a plan - he decided to get into the army. Then the boy hoped to get into the flying troops, and his dream would come true. He ran away from home, pretended to be an orphan and tried to get into military support. During the war, the family moved many times from one end of the country to the other, following their father. The future singer had seen enough of all the horrors of wartime. From childhood, Lev Barashkov showed interest in sports, especially football. For some time he even played for the Lokomotiv football team. None of the parents instilled a special love for music. Despite this, already at the age of 9, the boy often performed at the House of Officers.
The guy decided to become a teacher, so after graduating from high school, he went to study at the Kaluga Pedagogical Institute. There he continued playing sports, and also discovered acting. He took an active part in the institute amateur performances. The drama circle was led by Zinovy Korogodsky, who a little later invited Barashkov to perform at the local drama theater.
The young man really liked the theater and music. So he decided to finally connect his life with them. Lev Barashkov entered GITIS in 1956. And then - to serve in the Moscow Drama Theatre.

Three years after enrolling in GITIS, Barashkov made his film debut. The first was the military film "Annushka", which was followed by several more films. Despite his excellent acting skills, he was interested in music.
The first solo performances in the drama theater left an unforgettable impression. The audience warmly perceived each of his performances, and soon the musician was invited to the Mosconcert ensemble. In parallel, he managed to take the place of the soloist of one Soviet group, but this did not last long. Despite the success, Lev Barashkov had ambitions and wanted to perform solo. Soon he left the ensemble, the group and started preparing his own musical program.
As an independent performer, the singer made his debut only in 1985. He presented a solo concert program with which he performed for a long time.
