Luiku is a combination of incendiary gypsy music with Ukrainian, Polish, Romanian and Hungarian tunes.

Many music critics compare the music of Dmitry Tsiperdyuk with the work of Goran Bregovic.

History of the LUIKU project

LUIKU appeared on the musical sky in 2013. Dmitry originally created this project to record the soundtrack for the film. He wanted to experiment with styles, so he didn't record with Dazzle Dreams.

The name of the group was given by the character of the film "The camp goes to the sky" gypsy Loyko Zobar. Tsiperdyuk crossed the name Luiko with the Western Ukrainian word for "uncle". So the name of the new project appeared.

The group consists of three people. Its active force is Dmitry Tsiperdyuk himself. He writes music and creates arrangements. The second member of the group is accordionist Dmitry Reshetnik Dj Dimka Jr.

Also, Dmitry invited Greg from his previous band Dazzle Dreams to the new team. He acts as a DJ and percussionist. In this composition, the first single "Oh, Jesus Maria" was recorded.

Dmitry Tsiperdyuk himself overheard the plot of the song in the tea shop of Osmoloda village. Most of the villagers were lumberjacks. They were hired to fell trees.

After paying for the work, the lumberjacks went into the tea room and drank all the funds, returning home with empty pockets.

So the plot of the first song for the new project appeared. The composition was included in the first album of the Huntsman Master group. It was well appreciated by music lovers and broke into the top 10 best albums of Ukraine in 2015.

When working on the album, Dmitry Tsiperdyuk used three components of creativity:

  • God's gift, without which it is impossible to create beautiful music;
  • the ability to convey your thoughts to the public;
  • professional management and production.

The music of the LUIKU group harmoniously combines various folk tunes and frames them in a modern electronic sound.

Thanks to the high rhythm of the majority of the composition and the natural energy of Dmitry Tsiperdyuk, the audience instantly turns on and starts dancing.

Features of the group's creativity

Not so long ago, the group released a new video clip, which deals with beautiful girls and incomparable Ukrainian alcohol. According to the project manager, the composition was written in one evening.

Dmitry wanted to reveal Ukrainian soul to foreigners through the lyrics of the song and a funny video sequence. The composition was called Eurovision and became popular on the Internet.

In the new song, LUIKU makes fun of the stereotypes about Ukraine that exist in the world. Before writing the text, Dmitry tried to find out what foreigners think about our homeland.

Everything was typical - fat and the Klitschko brothers. Dmitry decided to present new images of Ukraine to the Europeans.

The Eurovision song is written in English. Dmitry added zest by singing a song with a deliberate Ukrainian accent.

The popularity of the group in Europe

The music of this group is very popular not only in Ukraine, but also in Poland, Hungary and Turkey. Understandable to the public of these countries, the ethno-material "explodes" the dance floor. The compositions of the group became soundtracks for films.

The LUIKU group is an unusual phenomenon for Ukraine. The main backbone of the band is made up of Dazzle Dreams musicians. They used to skillfully combine synth-pop and lounge.
