Only after returning to his homeland, to Russia, the rapper became a real star. Russian rap fans appreciated the interesting timbre of the guy's voice, as well as his texts filled with deep meaning.

Childhood

Markul (pronounced as Markul) is a pseudonym under which the name of Mark Vladimirovich Markul is hidden. The rapper was born in Riga, but later the family moved to Khabarovsk, but the boy was too small to remember that period of his life well.

The only important event is a visit to a school with a musical bias. Mark's mom had her own grocery store, so she decided to try her luck in London. She sells a store and opens a restaurant in London with Russian cuisine.

Unfortunately, the idea turned out to be a failure, and the family had to live from hand to mouth. At the time of the move, Mark was 12 years old. That is why the guy not only went to school, but also worked as a loader. It is worth noting that in the family he is the first who went to London. His uncle lived there, so Mark's parents decided to first send their son there, so to speak, "to reconnoiter the situation."

As soon as Mark arrived in Britain, it was summer and no school. Besides, my uncle lived in a wealthy area.

But when the family decided to completely move from Russia to the United Kingdom, Mark moved to the outskirts of London in a rather poor area.

School began, from which the guy was not happy. And Mark did not know the language. Soon dad decided to return to his homeland, and the son remained practically a hermit in a foreign country.

Mark's first friends appeared only a few years later. In the same period, with his new company, the future star tries drugs and gets acquainted with rap culture.

Creative life

While still living in Russia, Mark managed to fall in love with hip-hop. However, in London, this love only strengthened.

One day, a teenager heard that in one of the parks they were organizing a meeting of Russian musicians, where they would hold an impromptu rap performance. The guy decided to try himself.

The twelve-year-old boy turned out to be the youngest member of the party, but was warmly received by the rest of the team. This step can be called decisive in Markul's entire future career.

Tribe/Green Perk Gang

A few years later, Mark comes up with the idea to form his own rap group called Tribe. He invited several friends over (Chief and Dan Bro).

Over time, it was decided to call the team differently - Green Park Gang. However, music was only a hobby, but did not bring any income.

Therefore, the guy worked wherever he could and whoever he could - a loader, a builder, a handyman. It is noteworthy that all the material difficulties did not prevent Mark from getting an education.

Moreover, he has even been associated with the music industry. After school, the guy went to college as a sound engineer, and then to the university as a producer.

The lack of money and the desire to make music forced Markul to come up with various ways out of a difficult situation. Taking a fairly large loan, he bought good musical equipment, on which he recorded his tracks.

To return the money spent, Mark rented equipment to other musicians.

The first single and the collapse of the team

With the release of Markul's first single - "Weighted Rap" (2011) - the Tribe team broke up. Mark, seeing that he does not really like his own work, decides to take a break. The break is delayed for two years.

Mark returned to work with the single "Dry from the Water". The rapper's self-titled debut album followed. Then connoisseurs of Russian-language rap for the first time seriously paid attention to Markul.

He received, albeit a little, but still popular. Mark shot several clips and started recording a new album - "Transit". The main theme is loneliness and disappointment.

It is worth noting that at that moment Markula will support Obladaet and T-Fest. It was they who contributed to the release of the album.

Booking machine

In 2016, fate really smiled at Markul. Oksimiron, a fairly popular rapper and producer in Russia, invited Mark to his label Booking Machine.

Naturally, Mark did not want to miss this opportunity, and quickly moved from London to St. Petersburg. In an interview, he said that he rejected other proposals for cooperation in favor of Oxy.

This fact is also mentioned in the joint track of several Russian rappers “Konstrukt”. In his verse, Markul reads that he was not chasing a successful contract, but a reliable team.

The Booking Machine agency made Markul a truly Russian rap star. Now he is one of the most popular and sought-after hip-hop artists.

And in 2017, the single “Fata Morgana” and the video for it were released. The song was recorded together with Oxxxymiron. At the moment, this is one of the most expensive video clips in the Russian rap industry.

A little later, Markul's new album was released, recorded with an old friend Obladaet. In the same year, Markul's extensive tour of Russia and neighboring countries took place.

Personal life

Like most famous people, Mark carefully hides his personal life. It is known that he used to have a relationship with a girl, Yulia, but it is not clear whether their romance is still going on or not.

Fans only know that the rapper is not married and has no children. In his Instagram profile, Mark publishes exclusively news regarding his work. However, there are very few publications themselves.
