The future Ukrainian pop singer Mika Newton (real name - Gritsai Oksana Stefanovna) was born on March 5, 1986 in the city of Burshtyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Childhood and youth of Oksana Gritsay
Mika grew up in the family of Stefan and Olga Gritsay. The performer's father is the director of a service station, and her mother is a nurse. Oksana is not the only child, she has an older sister, Lilia.
From a young age of her life, she began to get involved in music. Stefan Gritsay, the father of the performer, helped in this.
He himself was in the past a member of the group, played the violin and was responsible for musical accompaniment at weddings. At the age of 9, the girl could already be seen on the stage of her native city of Burshtyn.

But two days after the victory, the jury, along with other candidates, insistently demanded to annul the results and re-hold the final.
The performer had to re-prove her honest victory and the devotion of those who voted for her. And already in March, the chairman of the UOC-MP gave his blessing to participate in the competition.
Two months later, the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest took place, where Mika performed under No. 6 and was admitted to the final. With 159 points, the singer took 4th place in the national competition, after which she moved to live in California.
