Today, the songs of the outrageous group Quest Pistols are on everyone's lips. Such performers are remembered immediately and for a long time. Creativity, which began with a banal April Fool's joke, has grown into an active musical direction, a significant number of "fans" and successful performances.
The appearance of the group Quest Pistols in Ukrainian show business
At the beginning of 2007, no one imagined that the comic performance for April Fool's Day, which was organized by three dancers from Dmitry Kolyadenko's show ballet, would be well received by the public. The "explosive" song "I'm tired" in a matter of days after the presentation became a mega-popular hit, sounding on all radio stations and TV channels of the country.
For a long time, the track occupied a leading position in all national music charts. The guys could not even imagine that they would turn from dance stars into famous singers with lightning speed.
The history of the team began in the early 2000s. But first it was the dance group Quest Pistols, performing dance numbers in the style of aggressive-intelligent-pop-dance. The main performances were successful and took place in expensive nightclubs in the capital. The audience liked the informal dancers, their outrageous appearance and the driving music to which the guys danced.
In 2004, the metropolitan producer Yuri Bardash became interested in the team. He took the kids under his wing. And he sent two dancers (Anton Savlepov and Nikita Goryuk) to vocal classes, and Kostya Borovsky to rap reading lessons.
April Fool's Draw
The popular musical project "Chance" on the TV channel "Inter" invited young guys to its gala concert. Quest Pistols group had to perform a dance number. But the guys warned that they had prepared a humorous musical number. As it turned out, it turned out to be non-humorous and instantly gained more than 60 thousand views.
A few days later, the producer of the group realized that these were future stars. In the autumn of the same year, he sent the group to Belgium for a festival promoting a healthy lifestyle, where the artists performed with the show program “Dances Against Poison”. All members of the group are vegetarians, do not drink alcoholic beverages and do not smoke. Also, they are not often seen at social events.
Peak of Quest Pistols fame
After several concerts on the big stages of the country, the group enjoyed great popularity. The guys did not have time to give interviews, take pictures and "fight off" from many fans. The “trick” of the musicians is to make the main bet in the performance on the visual part of the performance, non-standard and outrageous images and excellent choreography. Many haters accused the team of the fact that none of the participants can sing. But the guys did not react to this and continued to gather thousands of spectators at their concerts.
In 2011, personnel changes took place in the team. One of the soloists, Konstantin Borovsky, became the group's curator. And his place was taken by Daniel Joy (real name - Danila Matseychuk). Several times in the media there was information that Savlepov was also going to leave the team. But the members of the Quest Pistols have denied it every time.
The group toured the countries of the post-Soviet space, and also often performed in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2013, Borovsky and Matseychuk left the team and created a separate KBDM group. But contrary to the predictions of ill-wishers, the Quest Pistols continued their musical activity and was at the peak of popularity. Soon the trio grew into a quintet. More participants joined: Washington Salles, Vanya Krishtoforenko and a spectacular girl Mariam Turkmenbayeva. At first they worked more behind the scenes, Savlepov and Goryuk were still recognizable.
Gradually, the team began to change the concept - a new sound, meaningful lyrics, a new title, other images. Then a new name appeared - Quest Pistols Show. The new performance format has become very similar to a modern song and dance battle. This made him very memorable. Today the group has three full-fledged studio albums: "For you", "Superclass", "Lubimka".
Competitions and awards
During its activity, the group received many awards. The main participants are: "Golden Gramophone" and MTV Europe Music Awards. Also, the team applied for the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest for several years in a row. From Ukraine it was not possible to get there twice.
The country listened to the track “White Dragonfly of Love” for the first time long before the competition (this is prohibited by the selection rules). For the second time, the jury did not appreciate the future hit "I'm your drug." A year later, the musicians tried to get to the European competition already from Russia, but also unsuccessfully. As a result, the group decided to leave this idea and concentrated on the further development of creativity.
The subsequent musical activity of the group Quest Pistols
Despite the remarks in the press of music critics that the group had a creative crisis, the Quest Pistols Show group continued to work actively and release new hits: Baby Boy, "Santa Lucia". Together with the singer Lolita, the team recorded a video clip "You lost weight."
From 2014 to 2016 the group organized a large world tour. There she gained millions of fans and connoisseurs of quality, dance and club house music. Even more often, Mariam Turkmenbayeva was the soloist in the numbers.
From 2016 to the present, the group has remained in its unchanged composition. And also continues to delight his fans with new hits.
In 2017, the Quest Pistols Show group organized a grandiose show concert and called it "An Unlikely Concert", where they presented the best works from their work. The concert was very popular, and this motivated the guys to create more and better.
Despite the fact that the vocals of the soloists were not of a high level, the fans appreciated their work for the drive, breathtaking choreography, provocative, slightly brutal images and the special energy of the performances.
