Roma Mike is a Ukrainian rap artist who loudly announced himself as a solo artist in 2021. The singer began his creative path in the Eshalon team. Together with the rest of the group, Roma recorded several records, mainly in Ukrainian.
In 2021, the rapper's debut LP was released. In addition to cool hip-hop, some songs of the debut album are permeated with the sound of jazz and R'n'B.
Roma Mike's childhood and youth
Almost nothing is known about Roma's childhood and youth. If he did give interviews, then communication practically did not go beyond the “working moments”. Mike is from Vladimir-Volynsky (Ukraine). The artist speaks of his town in a positive way, although there are moments that frankly infuriate him. We quote:
“My city has a lot of cool monuments, parks and an incredibly cool atmosphere. There's a square where I started rapping."
According to the rapper, the only thing that began to frankly strain him over time was the lack of growth and progress. Calmness and daily routine took away from him the opportunity to develop. According to Roma Mike, if he stayed in this town, then most likely his "fans" listened to tracks that are saturated with depression and the mood of "Groundhog Day".
In an interview, Roma spoke about betrayal by his father. The head of the family decided to leave his relatives right at Christmas. Mike took this moment hard. Then Roma was a high school student.
For a long time he could not accept his father's choice, but today he is sure that their relationship with his mother has completely exhausted itself. It happens. Today Roma maintains a relationship with dad. By the way, the father of the rap artist, the work of his son went. Among his favorite compositions, he noted the track "Don't forget".
Roma has always strived for financial independence. As a teenager, he began to earn money. By the way, during this period of time, he greatly undermined his health. Mike carried cinder blocks weighing up to 35 kilograms. As a result of exhausting physical work, Roma developed varicose veins. Later, he had to agree to an operation to remove varicose veins.
Love for rap and street culture appeared in school years. He loves the work of Kendrick Lamar, Tupac and Travis Scott. Roma admits that she follows the work of Ukrainian musical singers and groups.
The creative path of Roma Mike
Roma "started" as a member of the Ukrainian team "Five Eshelon". Mike came up with the name of the project, together with his friend named Vitalik. The guys listened to hip-hop compositions before, and later, they grew up to “put together” their own project.
The guys began to work closely on musical material. But frankly, things weren't going well. Later, Vitalik moved to his mother in Italy, and Roma finally decided that he would not put an end to the team.
He met a young man named Slavik, who later became his sound engineer. In 2016, the guys presented the LP "Zolota Molodist". By the way, most of the tracks for the collection were written by Roma Mike. Slavik coolly read couplets written by his colleague. A little later, the rapper Vokha joined the line-up, and the group began performing under the banner of "Eshalon".
Special attention deserves the fact that "Eshalon" favorably stood out against the background of local artists who read in Russian, imitating singers like Guf, Basta, Slim. "Eshalon" was definitely a separate local hangout, and this was their main decoration.
The guys often performed just in the middle of the open sky. They read to an old Nokia, were dressed in vintage grandma's fur coats with voluminous headdresses, and felt simply high.
Mike will never forget the first money he made with hip hop. Once the guys performed near a local restaurant. A guy came out of the institution, inviting the guys to rap at his friend's wedding. The rappers agreed without talking. They not only received 400 hryvnias, but also ate delicious food and drank heavily.
The guys have already released several cool albums that definitely deserve the attention of music lovers. But the real breakthrough came in 2020.
This year, the premiere of the LP "A lot of people" took place. Authoritative publications noted that the band's tracks resemble a light version of Hemlock Ernst & Kenny Segal - Back At The House, Nas - It Was Written, in places - trap-hop in the spirit of Blockhead, a resident of the Ninja Tune label.

Roma Mike is married. His chosen one was a girl who is signed on Instagram as naughty_lucifer__. The guys look amazing together. Roma's wife supports him in his creative endeavors. In one of the posts, the wife dedicated the following words to Mike:

At the end of November 2021, the premiere of the debut solo LP of the rap artist took place. The album received the "modest name" "Roma Mike". The record includes tracks saturated with R&B, funk, jazz and even street romance.
The record is one of the main contenders for the best hip-hop album of the outgoing year. Roma Mike has been preparing the collection for 4 whole years. Each piece of music was worked on by different beatmeyers and sound producers.
