Roxen is a Romanian singer, performer of poignant tracks, representative of her native country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
Childhood and youth
The artist's date of birth is January 5, 2000. Larisa Roxana Giurgiu was born in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). Larisa was brought up in an ordinary family. From childhood, parents tried to instill in their daughter the right upbringing and love for creativity.
Larisa's love for music woke up too early. Parents encouraged their daughter in all her creative endeavors. The girl was fond of singing and skillfully played the piano.
From early childhood, Larisa took part in various music competitions. Often the girl left such events with a victory in her hands, which undoubtedly motivated her to move in a given direction.
The first portion of popularity came to Larisa after the release of the musical work You Don't Love Me by producer and DJ Sickotoy. The presentation of the track took place in August 2019. The DJ approved Larisa as a backing vocalist.
The presented musical composition took an honorable third place in the Airplay 100. In addition, the track quickly spread and got into the playlist of European music lovers.
During this time period, she signed with Global Records. At the same time, the presentation of the solo debut track of the artist took place. We are talking about the song Ce-ți Cântă Dragostea. The composition was warmly received not only by numerous fans, but also by music critics. On the presented track, the singer also released a bright video clip.
The creative path of the singer Roxen
2020 started off with good news for Roxen fans. In the middle of winter 2020, it became known that Larisa and several other participants, by the decision of the TVR channel, turned out to be the main contenders for participation in Eurovision. As a result, it was Roxen who had a unique opportunity to represent his native country in the song contest.
A few weeks later, Larisa presented several tracks that, in her opinion, could bring her victory at Eurovision. She performed the tracks Beautiful Disaster, Cherry Red, Colors, Storm and Alcohol You. As a result, at the competition, Larisa decided to perform the last composition of the three presented.
Alas, the singer did not manage to speak to the European public. In 2020, the organizers of Eurovision decided to postpone the song contest for another year. This was a necessary measure, since in 2020 a pandemic of coronavirus infection raged in the world. But, Larisa was not at all upset, since the right to represent Romania at Eurovision was assigned to her.
The musical innovations did not end there. In the same 2020, the singer's repertoire was replenished with tracks: Spune-mi, How to Break a Heart and Wonderland (with the participation of Alexander Rybak).
Details of the artist's personal life
Larisa is happy to share what is happening in her creative life, but she does not like to discuss matters of the heart. In addition, her social networks are also "silent". The artist's accounts are filled with exclusively working moments.
