ROXOLANA is a Ukrainian singer and lyricist. She gained wide popularity after participating in the musical project "Voice of the Country-9". In 2022, it turned out that a talented girl had applied to participate in the National Eurovision selection.
On January 21, the singer promised to present the track Girlzzzz, with which she wants to compete for victory in an international competition. Recall that in 2022 the National Selection will be held without semi-finals.
Childhood and youth of Roksolana Sirota
The artist's date of birth is July 30, 1997. Roksolana Sirota (the singer's real name) was born in Lviv (Ukraine). According to the artist, she loved to sing from early childhood. Roksolana did this not only at home, but also at all sorts of school events. It is known that Sirota was raised in a family of doctors, namely obstetricians and gynecologists.
She warmed the dream of a career as a singer, and even planned to enter the Glier Academy of Music. Most likely, at the insistence of her parents, after receiving a matriculation certificate, Roksolana went to get a law degree.
After successfully completing her higher education, Sirota began actively helping to develop the family business. Until a certain period of time, music, dancing and acting remained just a hobby.
"Since childhood, music has been an integral part of my life. But, I started doing vocals professionally about 5 years ago. I perform in parallel with my main job...", says Roksolana Sirota.
The creative path of ROXOLANA
Even before Roksolana appeared on the Voice of the Country, she managed to star in the television series Chergovy Likar. She got the role of a nurse named Zoryana. According to Sirota, she managed to organically get used to this role. During filming, the actress often sought advice from her parents, who, we recall, worked as doctors.
In 2019, Roksolana Sirota attended the Voice of the Country casting. A bright performance allowed the artist to take a vacant seat. She got into the team of Alexei Potapenko. Alas, at the knockout stage, Roxy dropped out of the project.
In the summer of 2021, she announced the launch of the art project Ukraine Is. The goal of the project is to combine modern music and Ukrainian poetry. The album includes 5 tracks and videos. Note that the songs were recorded to the words of famous Ukrainian poets Lina Kostenko, Yuriy Izdryk, Ivan Franko and Mykhailo Semenok.
Release of the debut video "Ochima"
In addition, in 2021, Roxolana presented the debut video clip for the track "Ochima". Note that the composition was based on a poem by the talented Lina Kostenko. In the video, Sirota invited the talented Ukrainian artist Anatoliy Kryvolap to star.
His studio served as the main location for filming. By the way, right during the filming of the video - Krivolapa completed writing one of the paintings.
Stylist Sonya Soltes chose the perfect image for the artist, reminiscent of the colors that the Ukrainian artist uses in her painting. The debut video was viewed by more than a million users of YouTube video hosting.
In September, the publication Muzvar nominated Roksolana for the author's award in the category "New Breath: the best new names in pop music." In addition, Sirota is the first artist with whom the MAMAMUSIC label began cooperation as a distributor.

In January 2022, it became known about Roksolana's intentions to take part in the Eurovision National Selection.
The final of the national selection "Eurovision" was held in the format of a television concert on February 12, 2022. Judicial chairs were taken by Tina Karol, Jamala and Yaroslav Lodygin.
Singer Roksolana presented the track Girlzzz. The judges' trio positively met the performances, but Jamala noted that Roxy, we quote: "A little short." The singer lacked drive.
The jury members gave the artist only 3 points. A much more positive assessment was given by the audience - 5 points. Unfortunately, this result was not enough to win.
Singer ROXOLANA's team came under rocket fire
ROXOLANA is one of those who supported Ukraine in a difficult time for the country. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the singer has supported the army and the people who became victims of the aggressor in every possible way.
In March 2022, the premiere of the composition "І СіУ" took place. The end of the same month was marked by the release of the track I'm Gone. A couple of months later, she pleased with the release of the video “Trimaysya”. The video was filmed in the singer's favorite city - Kyiv.
On July 14, 2022, as a result of a missile strike on Vinnytsia, part of the singer ROXOLANA's team was injured. The artist reported that one person from her team died. On July 14, Roxolana was supposed to hold a concert in the officers' house in Vinnytsia.
“During the hour of rocket attacks by Russians on Vinnytsia, part of our team was in the center of the place, everyone was injured. Zhenya died. Andriy continues to fight for life in the operating room. We pray for their lives and the lives of everyone who suffered today. We can’t test it at all. Receipts from all concerts will be refunded. Be kind, pray,” Sirota wrote on social networks.
