History of creation and composition of the team

It all started in 1994. The musicians thought for a long time about creating their own musical project. At the origins of the group is the talented singer Deborah Ann Dyer. Prior to forming the band, she worked in the same band with bassist Richard Lewis.

It so happened that the group, in which the musicians worked for a long time, broke up. Then Deborah and Richard met guitarist Martin Ivor Kent. And as a trio they created their own brainchild. A little later, drummer Robbie France joined the new band. The newcomer stayed in the group for a very short time. He was not satisfied with the working conditions. Robbie was replaced by Mark Richardson.

The creative path and music of Skunk Anansie

The musicians decided not to waste time in vain. Almost immediately after the line-up was approved, they started recording their debut compositions. Soon they signed a contract with the popular One Little Indian label.

It was at the presented studio that the top compositions of the band were recorded. It is noteworthy that the popularity of artists was not always positive. So, because of some tracks and the name of the singer (Skin), which she used on stage, the musicians were often accused of Nazism.

In the mid-1990s, the musicians delighted a large audience with the presentation of their debut album. We are talking about the album Paranoid & Sunburnt. The LP was very warmly received by music lovers and music critics. The tracks on the debut album were dominated by genres such as hard rock, reggae, punk and funk.

The musicians are confident that concerts help to charge fans with the necessary emotions. The team regularly performed in front of the people of Great Britain. In addition, they visited a dozen other countries around the world.

In between tours, the soloists of the group decided not to waste precious time. The musicians presented to the public the second studio album, which was called Stoosh. The fans were in great anticipation. The fact is that in the compositions of the second LP there was a live sound. The fact is that during the creation of songs, all the instruments were not recorded separately, they sounded together.

The next few years the musicians spent on tour. Their discography was not "silent" for a long time and was soon replenished with another LP. We are talking about the Post Orgasmic Chill record. After the presentation of the third studio album, the musicians went on tour. And in the early 2000s, they made a serious statement. The musicians said that now they will not work together.

Band reunion

Fans could enjoy the presence of all the musicians on stage only in 2009. At the same time, it became known that the band would henceforth perform under the creative pseudonym SCAM.

Under the new name, the musicians launched a concert. It is noteworthy that tickets for the band's performances sold out in an hour. In the same period of time, the group presented a new disc. We are talking about the album Smashes and Trashes. In addition to well-known songs, the collection includes three new compositions. The following year, SCAM's discography was replenished with the fifth studio album, which was called Wonderlustre.

In honor of the release of the new album, the musicians went on another tour. At the same time, the guys presented another fresh novelty - the Black Traffic disc.

After the reunion, the musicians were no longer so active. Some members of the group devoted more time to their own projects and personal lives. But one way or another, the group still toured and appeared at music festivals.

In 2016, the presentation of the seventh studio album took place. We are talking about the record Anarchytecture. The compositions were recorded in London. The musicians used the old technique when recording songs. Therefore, the tracks sounded as if the music lover was present directly at the concert.

Skunk anansie now

Members of the team continue to engage in creativity. In 2019, the Skunk Anansie group celebrated a major anniversary - 25 years since the creation of the group. The guys celebrated this joyful event with a European tour and the release of a live album. In addition, the musician presented a new track What You Do For For Love.
