Well-coordinated work and the release of the album did not prevent the leader of the group from disbanding the line-up. During this time period, Tracy moved to the Los Angeles area. There he met members of the NWA and Ruthless Records bands.

Soon the rapper takes on the creative pseudonym DOC, and records his debut solo album. The record was called No One Can Do It Better. The record was warmly received not only by fans, but also by music critics. In the mid-90s, the LP reached the so-called platinum status.

In 1989, the rapper was in a serious car accident. The tragedy was the fault of Tracy. Driving home from a party in his own car, he fell asleep at the wheel and turned off the freeway. He forgot to fasten his seat belt. He was thrown out of a window and crashed face first into a tree.

The celebrity was urgently hospitalized. He lay on the surgical table for a day. Doctors were able to bring him back to life. Since the rapper damaged his larynx, he could not speak, let alone sing. During this period of time, he writes tracks for the NWA team.

In the early 90s, the rapper terminated his contract with Ruthless Records. Tracy soon became part of Death Row Records. He went on to write various tracks for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.

In 1996, Tracy tried to return to the recording studio, this time to record his LP. Soon he presented the album Helter Skelter to fans of his work. In general, the work was warmly received by fans and music critics.

Starting your own label

A year later, he founded his own label, which was called Silverback Records in Dallas. He signed rapper 6Two Dre to the label, after which he began writing tracks for his repertoire.
