The Uvula team began its creative journey in 2015. Musicians have been delighting fans of their work with bright tracks for many years now. There is one small "but" - the guys themselves do not know what genre to attribute their work to. The guys play quiet songs with dynamic rhythm sections. Musicians are inspired by the difference in the flow from post-punk to Russian "dance".
History of creation and composition of the group
At the origins of the team is a certain Alexey Avgustovsky. The team was founded in the very center of the cultural capital of Russia. The musicians managed to conquer the audience with an unemotional timbre, as well as compositions on eternal themes - love and youth.
Aleksey not only defined himself as the frontman of the group, but also took on all the organizational issues. Avgustovsky writes texts on his own, gathers the rest of the band members for rehearsals, and does not get tired of repeating how difficult it is for him to be the head of Uvula.
According to Alexei, at the time the project was created, none of the participants had a stable job. Moreover, everyone who joined the Uvul came to the team with empty pockets. The first fans, who admired the work of young musicians, provided them with little material support. Thus, "Uvula" kept afloat, managing to record new compositions.
The musicians are sure that St. Petersburg is an ideal place for creativity. It is in the cultural capital of Russia that the guys live and release musical material. Some of the team members arrived in St. Petersburg from the province.
The members of "Uvula" are sure that the originality of the group lies in the fact that each of the musicians listens to completely different styles. For example, Alik loves classical music, Denis loves rock and oriental melodies, Alexander is emo at heart, and Artyom likes Russian club music.
Trite, but true - in childhood, the future members of the team were fond of music, loved to perform on stage and were active participants in school events. Musicians are united by a common idea. They perfectly feel each other, so conflicts in the team are extremely rare.
The underground sound is born at the intersection of different music and common interest. That is why, as a result, music lovers get a result that they want to pamper their ears with. In one of the interviews, the musicians compared their work with the music of the Kino group.
Creative path and music "Uvula"
Musicians admit that when a team gathers to compose music, the last thing they care about is the genre. Perhaps that is why the young band is attributed to several directions at once - post-punk, indie rock and lo-fi.
The semantic load of the compositions deserves special attention. Their texts are saturated with experiences, philosophical reflections on life. As it should be for almost any group, the guys from Uvula sing about love. Alexei says that he is most afraid of being like someone else, so he is trying to find the most original sound.
In 2016, a long-awaited event took place. The musicians finally pleased the fans of their work with the release of their debut album. We are talking about a record with a very "optimistic" title "No Way". The public accepted the disc with a bang. On the wave of popularity, the guys released another longplay - "I thought I could do it."
The last album is personal. It is given out by lyrical and depressive motives. The voice of the vocalist, as always, does not betray emotions. Calm dream-pop with a dynamic rhythm section and nostalgic personal lyrics - this is how fans of their idols see it.
In 2018, the musicians took part in the prestigious Bol Festival, which took place in Moscow. These were not the last pleasant “drivers” from the team. In 2018, they presented a video for the track "You and your shadow"
"Uvula" in the present time period
The team is at the stage of development and increase in popularity. Musicians are in no hurry to leave the underground niche. Despite this, their audience is expanding. In 2019, Uvula went on a large-scale tour, during which the musicians visited over 30 major cities.

In the same 2019, the guys presented the fans with the LP "We can only wait." Recall that this is the third collection of the group. The record was warmly received not only by fans, but also by online music publications.
In 2020, the discography of "Uvula" was replenished with the EP "Nothing Supernatural". The collection was topped by six songs. It should be noted that with the release of the presented disc, "Uvula" became signatories of the "Homework" label.
In 2021, the guys decided to please their fans with concerts. So, the performances of "Uvula" at the beginning of the year will be held on the territory of Russia and Ukraine.
