Wildways is a Russian rock band whose musicians have "weight" not only on the territory of the Russian Federation. The tracks of the guys found their fans among European residents.
Initially, the band released tracks under the pseudonym Sarah Where Is My Tea. Musicians under this name managed to release several worthy collections. In 2014, the team decided to take a more concise name. From now on, rockers are known as Wildweiss.
The composition and history of the formation of "Wildweiss"
The group was formed in 2009 on the territory of the provincial Bryansk (Russia). The team was headed by only 2 participants - I. Starostin and S. Novikov. The duo later expanded into a trio. The soloist A. Borisov joined the composition.
Exhausting rehearsals showed that the group was in dire need of talented musicians. Thus, the composition began to expand, and the sound of the tracks "better".
Soon the talented guitarist Zhenya Leutin and drummer Lyosha Poludarev joined the band. A little later, they leave the project, and Den Pyatkovsky and Kirill Ayuev took their "familiar" place.
The Creative Path of Wildways
Musicians who did not have the support of producers behind their backs began to rehearse simply in the garage. By the way, their first performance was also held there. In 2009, they were still performing under the banner of Sarah Where Is My Tea, performing tracks in English. Most of the musical compositions for the team were composed by Anatoly Borisov.
Soon the band's discography was replenished with the debut collection of the same name. Admirers of heavy music enthusiastically accepted the work of newcomers, which, no doubt, inspired the musicians. Then the guys worked in the metalcore genre, although they did not hide the fact that they were open to musical experiments.
On the wave of popularity, a full-length LP was released. The record was called Desolate. The tracks of this collection were saturated with melody. The experiment with the sound was appreciated by the "fans", and the musicians skated a tour around the territory of their native country. Later they went to Ukraine, Belarus and made their first tour of European countries.
Active touring activities definitely benefited the team. An increasing number of music lovers are beginning to be interested in the children's creativity. Success - motivates the musicians to record the second full-length disc.
Team name change to Wildways
The second studio album was called Love & Honor. This is one of the brightest LPs in the discography of rockers. In the same period of time, they change their creative pseudonym, but at the same time they do not lose fans. With the name changed to Wildweiss, the guys are recording new tracks that sound closer to post-hardcore.
The musicians set about creating a cover for the piece of music Till I Die by the rapper Machine Gun Kelly. In 2015, when the rocker version was ready, they presented a new product. The premiere of the cover was a turning point in the biography of the rockers. They were at the top of the musical Olympus.
At the same time, the guys from the Russian Federation had a unique opportunity to replenish the "fan" base with fans from the USA. To create the Into The Wild record, they went to America to collaborate with an American producer.
The musicians signed a contract with a new label. Despite the fact that the guys made a big bet on the new album, fans and critics greeted the collection rather coolly. For example, a provocative video for the track Faka Faka Yeah collected an unrealistic amount of negative feedback from compatriots guys. But, the American public turned out to be more supportive of the work of rockers.
In the same period of time, the team presented clips for the compositions 3 Seconds To Go, Princess and DOIT Novelties - the situation did not change. Russian fans advised the musicians to think about whether the rockers are moving in the right direction.
In 2018, the guys replenished their discography with another disc. The studio was called Day X. The rockers decided to reflect on the end of the world in the songs. How well the guys did it is up to their audience to decide. The compositions from the track list "tell" about the story of a man who found out that the planet will disappear in a month. The character, who has experienced a strong emotional upheaval, tries to find solace in religion and even illegal drugs.
Not without touring in support of the full-length LP. Then, the musicians presented a mini-album. Surprisingly, the guys recorded the tracks in Russian. The collection was called "New School".
Wildways: our days
The year 2020 began for fans of the rock band with good news. The musicians told the "fans" that they were about to present a full-length LP. And so it happened. The discography of the group was replenished with a LP, which was called Anna.
The album is based on the frontman's thoughts and dreams about the female ideal. In the compositions, the guys famously described the themes of love, loneliness, falling in love. The collection was warmly received by fans. Rockers received no less enthusiastic reviews from music critics. In the same year, they visited Ivan Urgant's studio, performing on stage one of the brightest compositions of their repertoire.
Some of the group's scheduled concerts in 2020 have been postponed. In 2021, rockers are finally coming out of the "darkness". They prepared bright concert numbers. Wildways will hold concerts in Russia and Ukraine.
