Yuri Sadovnik is a popular Moldovan performer, musician, lyricist, composer. Over a long creative career, he gave fans an impressive amount of worthy pieces of music. Folk songs sounded especially good in his performance.
Yuri Sadovnik: childhood and youth
The artist's date of birth is December 14, 1951. He was born on the territory of the small village of Zhura (Rybnitsa district, Moldavian SSR). Almost immediately after the birth of Yura, the parents moved to Susleny, Orhei district. It was in this colorful place that the childhood years of the Gardener Jr. passed.
He was brought up in a traditionally intelligent family. Mom devoted herself to pedagogy, becoming an honored teacher of her district. Father realized himself as a radio engineer. Parents spent a lot of time raising their son.
The main hobby of Yuri Sadovnik's childhood was music. Already in his school years, he "put together" the first musical group. His offspring was named "Khaiduchy din Suslen".
In his youth, he began to compose the first pieces of music. Soon he made an electric guitar, with which he went to the French song festival in Balti. At the event, the young man managed to win.
He had big plans for his own life. True, he was not going to “mow down” from the army, so in the early 70s, Yuri repaid his debt to his homeland. During the service, he did not forget about the main vocation - music. The gardener joined the local divisional jazz ensemble.
After he repaid his debt to his homeland, a short break followed. Having gained strength, the Gardener became a student at the Chisinau Institute of Arts.
He spent his student years as actively as possible. Firstly, Yuri took part in all kinds of student holidays. And secondly, he became part of the Sonor team. Being a member of the presented group, Sadovnik managed to fully feel himself in the role of a full-fledged artist. As part of this team, he gained invaluable experience in front of a large audience.
The creative path of Yuri Sadovnik
From the mid-70s, the artist worked on the basis of the Chisinau Philharmonic - in the ensembles "Contemporanul" and "Bucuria". The debut as a bard took place at the end of the 70s of the last century.
Yuri toured a lot, performed on stage with other ensembles, but in the end he grew up to found his own project. In 1983, he became the "father" of the band Legenda. For 10 years, the team has been delighting fans with really worthy pieces of music. They released several full-length LPs.
Not only the inhabitants of their native country were interested in the work of the Gardener. He actively toured Europe, where he was warmly welcomed by local music lovers.
He showed himself as a poet. The poems that came out from the "pen" of the artist definitely deserve the attention of not only fans, but also lovers of lyrical poetry. The gardener's collection of poems was called "Am să plec în Codru verde".
In the mid-80s, Yuri was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the USSR. He is a holder of the Order of Civil Merit and the owner of the Mihai Eminescu medal. A huge reward for the artist was the title of People's Artist of the Republic of Moldova.

The artist met his future wife in the hostel of the Institute of Arts. In one of the interviews, he said:
“I just sat in the room and smoked. I wasn't in the mood to celebrate the New Year. Friends began to beg to join them. They talked about the fact that some girl came from another university. I say - no, I'm not in the mood to meet someone ... "
When he saw Nina (future wife), he did not regret that he agreed to the persuasion of his comrades. Soon he proposed to her, and they legalized the relationship.
Death of Yuri Sadovnik
He passed away on June 7, 2021. Death occurred in the musician's apartment. He died from a gunshot. Later it turned out that the artist voluntarily passed away. A couple of days later he was buried at the Central Cemetery of Chisinau. The artist left a note to his relatives, in which he said that he was seriously ill and did not intend to be a burden on his relatives.
