"Aria" is one of the cult Russian rock bands, which at one time created a real story. Until now, no one has been able to surpass the musical group in terms of the number of fans and released hits.
The clip "I'm free" for two years took first place in the line of charts. What is one of the cult Russian groups, really?
Aria: how did it all start?
"Magic Twilight" is the first musical group, which was created by the then young students V. Dubinin and V. Kholstinin. The guys literally lived music. But, unfortunately, youth and ambitions played in such a way that the team soon broke up.
In the mid-80s, young Kholstinin, who still wanted to develop in the rock direction, joined the Singing Hearts group. Following the musician, Granovsky and Kipelov joined the group. Together, the guys played VIA, but dreamed of a completely different music.
Having gained experience, the young guys decided to leave the band and succumb to hard rock. So, they soon created a new musical group, which was called "Aria".
The founding date of the team falls on the same 1985. Megalomania is the debut album of rock musicians. By the way, by the release date of the disc, the composition of the musical group has completely changed:
- V. Kipelov became a soloist;
- I. Molchanov - drummer;
- A. Lvov - sound engineer;
- K. Pokrovsky - backing vocalist;
- V. Kholstinin and A. Bolshakov - guitarists.
The changes that took place within the group definitely benefited the team. A year after the release of their debut album, the band decided to please the fans with a concert. In the same year, the guys performed at the major rock festival "Rock Panorama". Popularity after the performance increased significantly, because the festival was broadcast on one of the major channels in Moscow.
The split of the group "Aria"
The end of 1986 brought some unexpected lineup changes. Between Kholstinin and Bolshakov a creative conflict was brewing for a long time. They differently saw the further development of the group and their work. There was a split in the group. Most of the artists left the team, creating new groups. However, Kholstinin decided not to leave his native Aria.
Since the musical group was on the verge of a split, the producer decided to replenish the team. Then the group included such artists:
- Dubinin;
- Mavrin;
- Udalov.
Music critics recognized this composition as the most successful. A couple of years later, the guys release a new album, which is called "Hero of Asphalt". This disc brought "Aria" unheard of popularity, becoming a real classic of the rock band. Just imagine, the album sold over 1 million records. In 1987, the guys gained popularity that could only be dreamed of.
Creativity "Aria", as it is
A year after the release of the legendary album, the group goes on a tour of the countries of the Soviet Union. After that, the collective of the musical group, which has been dissatisfied with the work of its producer for a long time, decides to change the leader. In 1987, Fishkin became the group's producer.
Fishkin is a competent and experienced producer. After a year of his leadership, he managed to motivate the guys to release a new disc. It was called "Playing with Fire".
The 90s were a difficult period not only for the Aria group. What, in fact, not so long ago fed the composition of the team and the producer, in the 90s, did not bear any fruit. Returning from a tour of Germany, "Aria" did not earn anything at all.
Group "Aria" without Kipelov
There have always been conflicts with the organizers. In the mid-90s, Kipelov was forced to look for additional earnings. He often performed in clubs, attended private events. The other members of the group didn't like it. They unanimously talked about replacing the vocalist. At that time, Terentiev took the place of the vocalist.
However, without a main vocalist, the band began to lose its popularity. Recording companies did not want to work without Kipelov. After some time, through negotiations and persuasion, Kipelov returns to the group, where, under his leadership, the album "Night is shorter than day" is born.
1998 was a very productive year for the Aria group. Some time later, their album "Generator of Evil" is released, which also brings media fame to the performers. The video clip of the group "Hermit" for a long time occupied a leading position on Muz-TV. The popularity of "Aria" knew no bounds. The group began to be recognized not only in their homeland, but also abroad.
In 1999, the world first heard the song "Careless Angel". A wide rotation made it possible to find a group of fans of a new generation who were interested not only in new works, but also in the "past" work of musicians.
"Chimera" is one of the main albums of "Aria", the release date of which comes in 2001. But, unfortunately, at that time Kipelov was very interested in solo projects, and decided to finally leave the group.
In 2002, the Aria musical group, which gave a concert at Luzhniki, informed their fans that Kipelov, Terentiev and Manyakin were leaving the Aria group. But, the fans didn’t have to be sad at all, because a new Kipelov group appeared with such a beloved and “tested” line-up.
Aria, meanwhile, accepted a new soloist into its ranks. They became Artur Berkut. This artist has been in the group for 10 years. Thanks to the work and talent, the following projects were implemented:
- Dance of Hell;
- Asphalt hero;
- Aria Fest.
Decline in the band's musical career
In 2011, for unknown reasons, Artur left the team. Zhitnyakov became the new vocalist of the rock group. A year later, the album "Live in studio" was released, which did not include new tracks. The album contained hits from previous years, performed by the new vocalist in their own way.
Aria group today
The Aria group pleased the fans of their work with the presentation of a new video. The rockers presented a video for their old song "Battle". The musicians said that the idea of creating a video belongs to videographers from Ryazan.
In September 2021, the rock band presented the live LP XX Years!. The album is available both digitally and as a 2 CD.
In early February 2022, the group announced a tour with the program "Guest from the Kingdom of Shadows". As part of this tour, the rockers plan to visit more than 10 cities.
“The last few years have been very, very difficult for us. We needed endurance, perseverance, patience. We are sure that it was a difficult period for our fans as well. But, despite all the restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, we were moving towards our goal. Not immediately, but the “Guest from the Kingdom of Shadows” reached Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Moscow ... And today the Flying Dutchman of “Aria” is ready to continue its journey!”.
