Bibi's family and development

On August 30, 1989, in Brooklyn, New York, Bebe Rexha was born to Blet Rex parents of ethnic Albanian parents. The Albanian meaning of Bleta is "bumblebee", and based on this, Bleta has given herself the nickname "Bebe", which she also uses as her stage name.

Her father, Flamur Rexha, immigrated to the US when he was 21 years old and his birthplace is Debar, a city in the western part of the Republic of Macedonia. Her mother, Bukurie 'Buki' Rexha, was born in the United States to an Albanian family from the Gostivar region, Macedonia.

Bibi stayed in Brooklyn for 6 years before moving with her parents to Staten Island, New York. She attended Tottenville High School. There she began to play the trumpet in elementary school, and lasted for 9 years, and also during this time she mastered the piano and guitar.

Later, she took part in several musicals, and in high school she became a member of the choir and found that her voice sounded like a coloratura soprano.

Rexha always wanted to be part of pop culture and started writing songs as a teenager. On May 12, 2015, Rexha released her first debut EP titled “I Don't Wanna Grow Up” with Warner Brothers Records. She co-wrote and featured on David Guetta's "Hey Mama" with Afrojack and Nicki Minaj and it peaked at number 8 on Billboard's Hot 100, 2015.

In the same year, she wrote and sang the song "Cry Wolf", which was very popular. Rexha collaborated with G-Eazy on the song "Me, Myself and I" and it peaked at number 7 on the Billboards "Hot 100" and number 1 on the "Pop song" charts.

Bibi then released a single with Nicki Minaj called "No Broken Hearts" in March 2016 and uploaded the official video in April 2016. The video was directed by Dave Meyer and has amassed over 197 million views as of 2017 on YouTube.

Her next collaboration with producer and DJ Martin Garrix was for a single titled "In the name of love", which was released on July 29, 2016. It peaked at number 4 on the US Hot 'Dance and Electronic Songs' and entered the Top 10 charts in many countries such as Canada, Italy, Australia, Canada and the UK. Bibi's second album: “All Your Fault: Pt. 1"

On October 28, 2016, Rexha released her single "I Got You". The single was from her second EP All Your Fault: Pt. 1 was released in early 2017 and ranked 17th on the US Billboard "Pop Songs". The EP featured stars such as G-Eazy, Stargate and Ty Dolla$ign. To date, the single has received over 153 million views. The EP has songs like "Atmosphere", "Small Doses" and "Gateway Drug".

Rexha revealed the cover art for her third studio album on April 8, 2018, and the album itself was released on June 22, 2018. Previous singles from All Your Fault, "I Got You" and "Meant to Be" also appear on Expectations.

On April 13, 2018, "Ferrari" and "2 Souls on Fire", the latter featuring Quavo of Migos, were released as promotional singles along with pre-order. As of now, Bebe Rexha is still single and may be living a single life. However, she is rumored to be dating Dutch DJ Martin Garrix.
