Each album of the group is worthy of attention. Records of musicians have their own original and genuine zest. Each Blink-182 compilation contains legendary hits that will always be popular.

The history of the creation and composition of the Blink-182 group

The history of the legendary band Blink-182 goes back to the distant 1990s. It is interesting that initially the musicians "promoted" the material under the creative pseudonym Duck Tape. Subsequently, the performers are named Blink.

The numbers 182 in the name of the group appeared a little later. In 1994, after the release of their debut album, the Irish band of the same name began to threaten the musicians so that they would change the name. I had to think about changing the creative pseudonym. The number "182" was chosen completely by chance and did not make any sense.

The band's frontman was Tom DeLonge. He had his own school history. Tom failed to finish school. He was kicked out of school for drinking alcohol. Parents transferred their son to another school, where he met Ann Hoppus. A little later, the girl introduced Tom to her brother Mark Hoppus.

Mark and Tom really wanted to start their own rock band. Soon another musician joined them - drummer Scott Raynor, who was then only 14 years old. In this line-up, the group performed until 1998.

When the musicians had just begun to gain their first fans, they had their first trouble. Because of the passion for alcohol, the band's drummer Raynor was forced to leave the group. The rest of the members explained the drummer's departure as a desire to get an education.

During this period of time, the group toured extensively in the United States of America. The musicians could not remain without a drummer, as the sound quality deteriorated significantly. After consulting, the musicians took the place of Scott Travis Barker. Previously, the musician played in the American band The Aquabats. Barker joined the new team without significant problems and quickly liked the public.

Departure of Tom DeLonge

The team in a short time gained the status of superstars. Despite this, no musicians were seen in 2005. The reason was Tom's decision. The musician decided to take a time out because he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Tom said that he was taking a break for a maximum of six months. However, as it turned out later, the musician refused to record new compositions and go on stage. The rest of the soloists were suppressed.

The musicians regarded Tom's actions as manipulation. Hoppus soon learned that DeLong had quit. He reported this to the manager, and the rest of the soloists were in the dark. But later the guys found out the truth.

The remaining musicians made a difficult decision for themselves - each of them took up a solo project. In 2009, unexpectedly for fans, the Blink-182 group again gathered in full force. The musicians have updated the repertoire and the band's logo. After this event, a new stage in the history of the rock band began.

This time, Delong lasted exactly 6 years. In 2015, the musician again announced that he wanted to leave the group. This time, the musicians did not dissuade Tom and soon found a replacement for him. He was replaced by Matt Skiba.

Music by Blink-182

The band entered the music scene with their debut album, Flyswatter. To be more precise, it was not a full-fledged album, but a demo cassette, which the musicians recorded on a tape recorder in the drummer's bedroom.

The result was not ideal. The sound quality was poor. Nevertheless, the musicians published 50 copies, which were sold to fans of heavy music.

The first performance of the group Blink-182 did not cause delight among the audience so far. By that time, the musicians of the band had not yet reached the age of majority. The guys were still allowed to perform at a local bar, on the condition that they leave the stage immediately after the concert.

Only 50 spectators came to the concert of young musicians. "Gloomy and rotten," commented Tom. But still, the guys performed. Later, another cassette with the band's recordings was released, which also turned out to be a “failure”.

A full-fledged album of the group Cheshire Cat was released only in 1994. Musical compositions were recorded at the studio Grilled Cheese Records. The musicians transferred most of the tracks from the second cassette.

Gradually, the musicians gained fans. But the most important thing was that influential producers paid attention to the promising group. Soon the Blink-182 group made a lucrative offer for cooperation. In 1996, the band signed a record deal with MCA. The company was later renamed Geffen Records.

In 1997, the band's discography was replenished with the second studio album Dude Ranch, produced by Mark Trombino. The album hit the heart of music lovers. Several songs have topped the US music charts.

The musicians reacted responsibly to the release of the new disc. The album has been in the works for two years. True, for the release of a new album, the guys decided to change the producer. The musicians began to cooperate with Jerry Finn, who had previously worked with the bands MxPx and Rancid.

It was the aforementioned producer who took up the further repertoire of the Blink-182 group. Soon fans saw the third studio album Enema of the State, which was released in 1999 and was very popular.

The main highlights of the third album were the musical compositions All the Small Things, Adam's Song and What's My Age Again. For the last track, the musicians recorded a video clip in which they shocked with their appearance - in the video clip, the band's soloists ran down the street completely naked.

The new album Take off Your Pants and Jacket was released already in 2001. The record was recorded in the best traditions of Blink-182. This is one of the most worthy works of the team. In support of the new collection, the musicians went on a European tour, but it soon had to be cancelled. It's all because of the September terrorist attacks.

A year later, Blink-182, along with other rock bands, went on the Pop Disaster tour, in preparation for which DeLonge began to create a solo project. Over time, even more material accumulated, and DeLong called his drummer Barker to the project, as well as guitarist David Kennedy.

Participation in the recordings of musical compositions also took Jordan Pandik, Mark Hoppus and Tim Armstrong. As a result, fans enjoyed the quality project of the Box Car Racer.

After some time, the musicians united in order to replenish the discography with a new album. In 2003, the band presented their fifth record, which received the "modest" name Blink-182. The main hits of the new album were the musical compositions Miss You, Always and Feeling This.

At the end of 2003, the musicians went on a big tour. The highlight of the band's concerts was the affordable cost of tickets. The self-titled compilation became the best-selling album in Blink-182's discography. In the next 6 years, more than 5 million copies of the Blink-182 compilation were sold.

Then the team gathered as a "golden line-up" only four years later. At the same time, the musicians presented a new clip First Date. The band announced the release of a new album in 2010. However, the musicians could not meet the deadlines, and the Neighborhoods album was released only in 2011. In 2012 Blink-182 went on a major European tour.

After the release of the new album, fans hid in anticipation of new tracks. However, the "fans" had to be patient. The recording of new musical compositions had to be postponed. This was due to the replacement of the vocalist and guitarist in one person.

Only in 2016 the band's discography was replenished with the new album California. Traditionally, the musicians went on tour and started recording a new album.

Blink-182 today

The team continues to record new musical compositions today. However, for the most part, musicians are touring. The soloists shared information that soon music lovers will be able to enjoy the tracks from the new album.

In 2019, the soloists of the group presented the first track, which was included in the 8th studio album. The musicians did not let their fans down, and already in September they presented a "gloomy" album, which was called Nine.

The album was produced by John Feldmann and Tim Pagnotta, along with Captain Cuts and Futuristics. The cover of the collection was decorated with a "picture" by the artist RISK. Most of the musical compositions of the collection were written under the influence of the events taking place in the world and the depression of Mark Hoppus.
