The creative path and music of the group Creed

So, the founders of the legendary team were Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti. Young people met while studying at the University of Florida.

The guys were united not only by love for music, but also by strong male friendship. Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips soon joined the duo.

The first rehearsals were held at the home of Scott Stapp. Then the guys moved to the basement, and only then - to a professional recording studio. Before creating the Creed group, all four members already had experience in musical groups. True, this experience cannot be classified as professional.

In 1997, the presentation of the debut album My Own Prison took place. The collection made a real splash on fans of heavy music. The group instantly had an army of thousands of fans, and music critics did not "shoot" the debut collection with their powerful statements, but, on the contrary, supported the young musicians.

This album is certified six times platinum and is one of the top 200 best selling compilations of all time in the United States of America. 10 top tracks "promoted" young musicians to the big stage.

As a result, the Creed group received the status of "Best Rock Artists of the Year" from the legendary Billboard. At one of the press conferences, the musicians were asked: "What, in their opinion, allowed the debut album to become so popular?" The musicians responded, "My Own Prison achieved multi-platinum status thanks to sincere and poignant lyrics."

In 1999, the group's discography was replenished with the second studio album Human Clay. In this disc, the musicians touched on the topic of choice: “How do actions affect a person’s life?” and “Does everything depend on the choice of a person?”. A year after the presentation of the disc, Brian Marshall left the band.

The third studio album, Weathered, was released in 2001. Tremonti performed bass in the recording studio, and Brett Hestle was the bassist for Creed in concert. The disc took a leading position in the legendary Billboard 200 music chart. With this collection, the musicians once again confirmed the high status of the Creed group.

The band's live performances were very popular. Interestingly, it was not always possible to get tickets for the concert of your favorite group, since they were sold out on the first day of sales.

In the early 2000s, the musicians played for more than 1 million people worldwide. “Each of our appearances on stage is a significant tension, because we play from the heart and give all our best,” said Scott Stapp. When in a radio interview the star was asked: "What is the secret of their success?", He answered briefly: "Sincerity."

The collapse of the Creed team

After the presentation of the third studio album, the musicians went on a big tour, which ended closer to 2002. The fans were waiting for the fourth record, and the musicians did not seem to want to hear the request of the "fans".

In 2004, the soloists of the Creed group announced that they were disbanding the band. Tremonti and Phillips (along with Mayfield Four vocalist Miles Kennedy) formed a new band called Alter Bridge.

Brian Marshall soon joined the team. Scott Stapp had no choice but to pursue a solo career. A year after the dissolution of the group, the singer presented his solo album The Great Divide.

Creed reunion

In 2009, information appeared about the reunion of the musical group. Soon the musicians presented the composition Overcome. It became clear to fans that the release of the fourth studio album would soon take place. "Fans" were not mistaken in their assumptions.

On October 27, 2009, the band's discography was replenished with a new collection, Full Circle. At concerts in the Creed group, a new member appeared - guitarist Eric Friedman.

In the next three years, the musicians were actively touring, delighting fans with new albums. Soon they announced the release of their fifth studio album. But the fans did not realize that "behind the scenes" (within the team) a conflict was flaring up.

Due to creative differences between Stapp and Tremonti, the team decided to announce the next dissolution of the Creed group. Tremonti, Marshall and Philipps continued their creative activity, but already as a group Alter Bridge, and Stapp again embarked on a solo career.

In early 2014, Stapp denied the final collapse of the team. Tremonti also stated that the band still has no plans to get together for the release of a new collection or a concert tour.

The miracle didn't happen. In 2020, the musicians who were part of the Creed group are developing their own projects. It seems that the legendary team will not be resurrected.

Creed is not a Christian team

The musical compositions of the son of Pentecostal pastor Scott Stapp from the debut album were liked by millions of people, including Christians. That is why most music lovers classified the band's tracks as a "Christian group".

The name of the band also added fuel to the fire. Creed means "creed" in translation. Top compositions of musicians With Arms Wide Open, Don't Stop Dancing and Wrong Way were often heard on the air of Christian radio stations.

Scott Stapp has repeatedly said that the team has something to do with Christianity. But at the same time, the musician did everything to ensure that the Creed group got into the “black list” and was permanently deleted from the list of Christian groups.

As Stapp's popularity increased, he abused alcohol and alcohol, against which he often acted as a hooligan on stage.

In 2004, when the band broke up for the first time, leaving behind over 20 music awards and over 25 million copies sold in the United States of America, Scott released his debut compilation The Great Divide.

Music lovers and music critics were quick to classify Scott as a Christian performer. The singer responded to the "fans" with kindness. The star again became the cause of many scandals, including a drunken fight with the 311 team.

A little later, a video was published in which Scott and his friend Kid Rock have sexual intercourse with "fans".
