In 2009, YG Entertainment initiated the creation of a new girl group. The role of the leader of 2NE1 was for Lee Che Rin. By this point, she had adopted the pseudonym CL. The debut of the team was scheduled for May 17. The girls performed the song "Fire", which became an instant hit. Despite participating in 2NE1, playing the role of the leader of the team, CL did not stop dreaming of a solo career, achieving personal success. She tried to work with other performers at every opportunity. She performed outside of her group. 

The girl composed music and words for songs, performed rap parts in other people's compositions. She periodically starred in the videos of other artists. In 2019, the singer decided to break up with YG Entertainment. She terminated the contract. A month later, she announced 2 new solo songs. After that, there was another lull. The real resumption of a musical career took place in the fall of 2020. CL announced the release of a couple of singles at once, which became the announcement of her new album. 

The singer began active promotion. She released an incendiary video, performed in a popular program, opened a new fan club. Shortly before the album's announced release date, CL announced that it was postponing the long-awaited event. She explained this by the need to make changes to existing material, a new release was scheduled for early 2021.
