Torten Fenslau wanted to become an architect since childhood, but he urgently needed money to make his dream come true. He mainly earned them at night, working as a DJ in local nightclubs.

For 11 years he created music on his own, but subsequently he teamed up with Jens Zimmermann and Peter Zweier to create a cult project.

The beginning of the work of the group Kalcher Bit

Having started work, the team released many songs, but they were offered to listeners only in instrumental versions. At the same time, some compositions appeared in Germany, while others appeared in the United Kingdom.

The group's songs were most popular in nightclubs. To bring even more different "elements" into the compositions, Jay Supreme and Lana Earl were invited to the group.

The main genre for the group was the European dance style. This direction greatly influenced the further development of the team. Moreover, two compositions hit the top positions in the European charts. Despite the obvious success, Lana decided to leave the team.

As a result, this decision became fateful. Her place was taken by Tanya Evans, with whom the warmest memories are associated with fans of the Culture Beat group.

Hit Dr. Vain

After the release of Dr. Vain, which thundered throughout the country, released other singles, which also received the attention of the European public. For achieving a high level of sales, the team was awarded several awards. And Thorsten Fenslau was named the best producer of the year.

Soon he got into a serious accident, so he was able to return to work only in 1995. Song Vain has been certified six gold, one silver and one platinum in Austria. No subsequent composition of the group was able to repeat this success. Soon the team began a gradual decline.

Changes in the work of Culture Beat

In 1997, Frank decided to change the direction of the team. The sound became similar to popular music. The members of the group began to work on other projects, as a result of which serious changes began in the composition of the team. Jay Supreme decided to leave due to the fact that Tanya Evans left the project. Fortunately, the producer was able to quickly find a replacement, so the band continued to work on other records.

In 1998, the musicians presented the mini-album Metamorphosis. Despite the high expectations associated with the work, the listeners were skeptical about the novelty. As a result, the work took only 12th position in the German charts, which was a real "failure" for the group. Subsequent compositions were of poor quality and were not so in demand among dance music lovers.

Present time of Culture Beat

In 1999, a decision was made to temporarily stop performing. The return happened two years later. Jackie Sangster came to replace Kim. Then the group released several successful songs that took the lead in the charts. Such results were the best for the Culture Beat group over the past 10 years. Nevertheless, the team failed to repeat such successes.

In 2003, the band performed a celebratory concert dedicated to the release of the song Dr. Vain. The Culture Beat team created an updated version of the composition, which took 7th position in the German national chart. A few months later, a collection with the best hits of the band was published. At the same time, they planned the release of the next solo album, in which Jackie was supposed to act as a vocalist. However, the release was cancelled.

The single Can't Go On, which was supposed to be included in this record, received little attention from the audience. The song Your Love was released in 2008. Today, Jackie and rapper MC 4T, who have been members of the group since 2003, perform under the name Culture Beat around the world, performing both songs from the 1990s and more recent works.

In January 2013, The Loungin' Side of was released. It contained acoustic versions of the band's biggest hits from their two studio albums.

The band's singles also performed well in the mid-1990s. The last song to go gold was Inside Out, released in 1995. After the release of the remix for the song Mr. Vain did not chart a single song. Although the guys did not create anything new, they did not report anything about their collapse either.
