Dan Balan has come a long way from an unknown Moldovan artist to an international star. Many did not believe that the young performer could succeed in music. And now he performs on the same stage with singers such as Rihanna and Jesse Dylan.

When the boy was 3 years old, his parents again took him to Chisinau. Dan loved to go to work with his mother. He was lured by cameras, microphones and television equipment. He begins to be passionately interested in musical instruments. Already at the age of 4, the boy appeared on television, speaking to a huge audience.
First passion for music
At the age of 11, little Balan was presented with an accordion. Parents noticed that their son began to be very interested in music, so they enrolled him in a music school. Later, the parents admit that at the music school his talent literally “bloomed”.
Father's connections allowed him to give his son the best. The father responsibly approached the education of his son and chose for him one of the best lyceums in the country - named after M. Eminescu, and after that - the lyceum named after Gheorghe Asachi. In 1994, the head of the family receives a promotion. Now he is the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Israel. The family had to move to another country. Here Dan Balan gets acquainted with a new culture for himself, and learns the language.
In 1996 the family returned to Chisinau. On the recommendation of his father, Balan Jr. enters the Faculty of Law. The father wants his son to follow in his footsteps. Balan persuaded his parents to give him a synthesizer. The parents agreed, but put forward a counter offer, they would buy him a synthesizer if he successfully passed the entrance exams.
Dan is given a synthesizer, and he begins to engage in music with enthusiasm. He was not interested in studying at the university. During his studies, he founded a musical group, and began to invest all his time and effort in the development of the group.
Dan was finally convinced that he did not need a legal education. He decided to drop out of school, informing his parents about it. This statement shocked them, but the guy was unshakable.

While studying at school, Dan became the founder of his first musical group, which was called the "Emperor". However, this project was not destined to become popular. Most likely, it was some kind of experiment for a novice performer.
A more serious step for Balan was the group Inferialis, who played heavy music in the style of gothic-doom. This musical genre was very relevant among the youth of that time. It is interesting that the musical group held the first concert on the ruins of an abandoned factory, which gave the concert audacity and extravagance.
Dan invited his relatives to his first large-scale performance. The young performer was very worried that his relatives would not understand him.
But what a surprise awaited him when, the day after the performance, his father gave him a new synthesizer. According to Balan, mother and grandmother came from his performance in a wild shock.
Soon, Dan begins to understand that heavy music is not for him. Increasingly, he begins to play light and lyrical pop music. The members of the Inferialis group did not understand such antics at all.
Soon the young man decides to leave this musical project and pursue a solo career. The musician recorded his first solo song "Delamine" in 1998.
Formation of the musical image of the artist
Only by 1999, Dan Balan realized in which direction he wanted to move. The singer has completely formed his musical image. In the same 1999, he became the leader and main soloist of the O-Zone group.
The O-Zone group was initially led by Dan Balan and his friend Petr Zhelikhovsky, who was passionately engaged in rap. Immediately after the founding of the group, young people record their first album, which was called "Dar, undeeşti".
The record will hit the bull's-eye, making the guys popular. Peter was not ready for such popularity, so he decided to leave the group.
After Peter left, Dan organizes a full-fledged casting. Young performers came to the casting from all over the country. After listening and the teacher's advice on vocals, two more members join Balan - Arseniy Todirash and Radu Sirbu. So, a trio was formed from a popular duet, and the guys began to conquer the whole world with their creativity.
In 2001, O-Zone released their second album, Number 1, under the Catmusic label. The tracks that were included in the second album did not become hits. Then Balan decided on musical experiments. During this period, the composition "Despre Tine" was released, which was destined to become a real world hit. For 17 weeks, the song held the position of leader in the international hit parade.

In 2003, the musical composition "Dragostea Din Tei" was released live, which glorifies O-Zone throughout the planet. The composition was performed in Romanian. She immediately topped the international hit parade. It is interesting that this track was not recorded in popular English, but it held the leading position for a long time.
This track gave the musical group not only popular love and international recognition, but also many prestigious awards. Dan wasted no time, and in the wake of this popularity, he released the album "DiscO-Zone", which later went platinum. The record has sold over 3 million copies.
For many fans, it was a big surprise that Balan in 2005 decided to close O-Zone and pursue a solo career. In 2006, the singer goes to the United States of America. He begins work on his debut solo album, but for some reason, the record was never released to the "people".
Some of the material that the singer prepared for the solo album will later be seen by fans in the new Crazy Loop project. Later, Dan Balan will perform under this creative pseudonym.
