Claudie Fritsch-Mantro, who is known to the public under the creative pseudonym Desireless, is a talented French singer who began to take her first steps in the fashion industry. It became a real discovery in the mid-1980s thanks to the presentation of the composition Voyage, Voyage.
Childhood and youth of Claudie Fritsch-Mantro
Claudie Fritsch-Mantro was born on December 25, 1952 in Paris. The girl was an amazing and incredibly talented child. From her youth, she was interested in creativity, but not music, but design. Claudie loved trying on her grandmother's clothes. Thus, it can be judged that even in childhood the girl decided on the choice of profession.
After graduating from high school, Claudie took design courses at the popular Parisian studio Studio Berçot. Soon she presented a line of her own clothes, which was called Poivre Et Sel.
The world of fashion really liked Claudy. The situation changed when she visited Italy. This trip changed her plans for life. Claudie realized that she wanted to make music.
Creative path Desireless
Although Claudie wanted to realize herself as a singer, the first conquest of the music industry turned out to be a big “failure” and personal disappointment. Initially, the girl worked in the groups Duo-Bipoux and Kramer.
Everything changed in 1984 when she met Jean-Michel Riva. Subsequently, the man became the producer of Claudie. A new group Air appeared in the music world, in which the girl became a soloist.
The first compositions - Cherchez Amour Fou and Qui Peut Savoir - were not successful. But Claudie didn't give up. She took the creative pseudonym Desireless and decided under this name to win the hearts of demanding music lovers.
When the “new” Claudie entered the scene, many were surprised at the change in her image. She was cold and serious. There was nothing feminine or sexual in her movements. Such a concise image attracted the attention of the audience.
Desireless dressed like a man. She cut off her long hair and had a short hairstyle. Her strands reminded the audience of porcupine quills. The stage image of Claudie came up with herself. In all other respects, the singer obeyed the will of the producers.
The immortal hit and calling card of the Voyage singer, Voyage sounded in 1986. The track topped the prestigious music charts in Germany, Austria, Spain and Norway. Later, Claudie recorded a remix, which entered the top 10 in the UK and became a "friend" of all discos in the world.
In 1988, another composition by John was presented. The track had a deep philosophical meaning. In the composition, the singer questioned the reasons that led to the outbreak of hostilities. The song was very popular in Finland, Spain and the Russian Federation.
Debut album presentation
The discography of the French performer was opened by the album François. Interestingly, during this period of time, Claudie's compositions gained worldwide popularity.
Her songs were played on local radio, but the appearance of the French singer remained a mystery to many. The producers deliberately did not show who exactly is hidden under the creative pseudonym Desireless. This only increased genuine interest in Claudie.
The singer was not happy that she was hidden under seven locks. She wanted to show her emotions and exchange energy with the audience. But, alas, this dream was just a wish.
In the late 1980s, Claudy practically did not release new compositions. This event made the fans a little worried. But everything changed in 1994. Unexpectedly for many, the singer presented her second studio album I Love You. The compositions included in the new album received even more lyrical and poignant sound. It is noteworthy that Claudie wrote all the compositions herself.
Changes were not only in the repertoire, but also in the style of the singer. There was no trace of her usual hairstyle, but a playful “hedgehog” appeared. Women's and sexy tunics replaced strict suits. Not everyone appreciated the new image of the singer, but Claudie was not interested in the opinion of society. She continued to develop in a given direction.
After the presentation of the second album, she held an acoustic concert with guitarist Michel Gentils. The tour ended with the recording of the live compilation Un Brin De Paille. The next achievement of the singer was the creation of her own dance show La Vie Est Belle. The program was well received by fans in many European countries.
After a successful return to the stage, Claudy released a lot of new albums. Personal life
In her youth, Claudie married the charming François Mentrop. Soon the couple had a daughter, whom she named Lily. The couple's family relations deteriorated from the very beginning, and soon François and Claudie divorced.
Only after 50 years Claudie met her love. The chosen one of the woman was called Titi. Today, the singer devotes a lot of time to her home and a small plot of land on which she grows vegetables. She shares photos of the harvest on her Instagram page.
