The name Dmitry Koldun is well known not only in the countries of the post-Soviet space, but also far beyond its borders. A simple guy from Belarus managed to win the musical talent show "Star Factory", perform on the main stage of Eurovision, receive a number of awards in the field of music, and become a famous personality in show business.
He writes music, songs and gives breathtaking concerts. Handsome, charismatic, with a pleasant, memorable voice, he won the hearts of millions of listeners. Armies of female fans accompany him at all concerts, showering him with letters, flowers and declarations of love. And the singer continues to love music and delight the audience with his work.
Dmitry Koldun: childhood and youth
The singer's hometown is the capital of Belarus - the city of Minsk. Here he was born in 1985. Dmitry's mom and dad were ordinary school teachers with an average income, so the boy could not always afford what his peers had. But on the other hand, he was distinguished by a good upbringing, was as purposeful as possible and studied diligently.
From an early age, Dmitry was fond of biology, he wanted to become a geneticist or a doctor. Parents did not argue and even assigned their son to a specialized gymnasium. In high school, Dmitry fell under the influence of his older brother, a musician. He performed in nightclubs and was quite famous in musical circles. Dmitry suddenly changed his point of view and firmly decided to become a singer.
Under the influence of his parents, who were categorically against the fact that the youngest son connected his life with show business, the guy, after graduating from school, nevertheless entered the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of the Belarusian State University. In the third year, the love of music took over. Dmitry Koldun dropped out of school to devote himself completely to creativity.
The young man was not stopped by either the requests and arguments of his parents, or excellent success at the university. He developed his plan to conquer the stellar Olympus and confidently began the path to it.
The beginning of the creative path
The first step towards future success was the musical project of the "People's Artist" in 2004, in which Koldun took part. He applied and passed the casting without any problems. The guy did not manage to reach the final, but nevertheless, several bright performances on stage took place. This was quite enough for Dmitry to be remembered by both the audience and the producers. Participation in the competition contributed to the fact that Koldun was offered to become a soloist in the State Concert Orchestra of Belarus, led by Mikhail Finberg. Thus began the first tour around the country and even the first filming in the New Year's TV project on the state channel ONT. But this is not what Dmitry wanted at all. He dreamed of a career as a solo pop artist and continued to write his songs and music for them.
In 2005, the Sorcerer decides to take part in the festivals "Slavianski Bazaar" and "Molodechno". His performances do not go unnoticed, the audience liked him, and the jury highly appreciated his singing talent.

Having some experience, a dream and talent, in 2006 Dmitry Koldun decided to take part in the popular and sensational Russian project "Star Factory 6". He performed the song "Still loving you" together with the legendary band "Scorpions". Dmitry not only proved to the jury that he is the best, but also instantly became the favorite of the public.
Foreign performers really liked the voice and manner of the young performer's performance. Klaus Meine invited Koldun to take part in an international tour with them. The guy could not even dream of such a turn of events. After the end of the project, where he nevertheless reached the final and rightfully took first place, he immediately joined the "Scorpions". As a sign of gratitude and admiration, the legendary German performers presented Dmitry with a personalized, very expensive guitar, which he still keeps.
The victory in the "Star Factory" brought the musician not only wild popularity, but also a number of new opportunities. After the completion of the project, he signed an agreement with one of the music corporations. As a result, he is the lead singer of the KGB musical group.
In addition to Dmitry, the group included Alexander Gurkov and Roman Barsukov. The team begins active work, but does not gain much popularity among the public. The sorcerer gets bored, he understands that he wants and can do much more. After a year of cooperation, the artist terminates the contract and leaves the group to pursue a solo career.
Star Trek and participation in Eurovision
In addition to concerts and tours, the singer had a specific goal. He wanted to enter the international Eurovision Song Contest. In 2006, he passed the national selection in Belarus with his song "May be". But, unfortunately, he did not become the winner and another performer was sent to the competition. But the guy did not give up and the next year he again appeared at Eurofest.
This time the musician was perfectly prepared and thought through everything to the smallest detail. Not the last role in the preparation of the young performer for the competition was played by Philip Kirkorov himself. He supported the singer both at the national selection and at the Eurovision itself. The song "Work your magic", officially owned by Kirkorov, took sixth place in the final of the international competition. It should be noted that for all the years of Belarus' participation in this competition, only Koldun managed to bring his country to the final, and since 2007, none of the Belarusian participants has managed to surpass Dmitry's result.
Returning home, the singer also made a Russian-language version of the song, which for a long time did not leave the top positions of all the music charts in the post-Soviet space. In 2008, the musician became the owner of the Golden Gramophone, as well as the winner in the Sexiest Man of the Year rating.
After the competition, the popularity of the artist has increased significantly. Tours began in near and far abroad. "Scorpions" for the second time invited the Sorcerer to participate in their concerts. Dmitry is offered to act in films, where he successfully played two small roles. The artist also tried himself as a theater actor. He got the role of the main character in the production of "The Star and the Death of Joaquin Murietta."

In 2009, the singer realizes another dream of his and opens his own recording studio. Within its walls, his first music album was released under the same name "Sorcerer". The album contained eleven hits. The singer presents the second album "City of Big Lights" to the public 3 years later - in 2012. In total, the singer has 7 released albums. Over the years of creativity, he managed to sing a duet with many stars of Russian show business, such as F. Kirkorov, V. Presnyakov, I. Dubtsova, Jasmine, etc.
In addition to songwriting, the artist constantly appears in various television projects. He was a participant in the show "Two Stars", the mystical program "Black and White", reached the final in the parody project "Just the same" (2014). Also, the Sorcerer managed to show his intellectual abilities on the program "Who Wants to be a Millionaire".
Personal life of Dmitry Koldun
The life of a star off the stage can be called ideal. Not a single publication wrote about his novels and adventures. And the reason is the pure and bright feeling that the singer has for his soulmate - his wife Victoria Khomitskaya. They started dating back in their school years and managed to keep their love years later, testing Dmitry's popularity and workload.
Vika gave Dima two beautiful children - son Jan, born in 2013 and daughter Alice, who was born in 2014. As Dmitry himself says, he is not a strict parent, but rather a fair one and often likes to encourage his kids for even the smallest achievements. Having a luxurious apartment in the Russian capital, the family prefers to live in a country house near Minsk.
The singer claims that inspiration visits him more often in his homeland, and he visits Moscow to solve all technical issues related to his activities. The artist rarely visits secular parties and does it out of necessity rather than out of desire. Dmitry loves silence and often asks his family to let him be alone with his thoughts, reboot and be inspired by new projects.
The artist takes his popularity calmly and even slightly philosophically. “I won’t go to a presentation of some trinket just to get into the lens of journalists,” he says. In the future, Dmitry Koldun plans to once again get to Eurovision and bring victory to his country.
