New label and album The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion (2007 – 2009)

On February 14, 2007, Dredg announced that they were working on their fourth album. On June 8, 2007, Gavin Hayes published information on his personal blog that the band had already prepared 12-15 songs and would soon reach the finish line in recording. Calm followed. It wasn't until December 21 that Hayes announced that the band would go into the studio in early 2008.

However, it turned out that this was not destined to come true. The band spent the whole spring on tour, within the framework of which many new compositions were presented, which later became part of the studio album.

After a long tour, the band released several demos with new tracks. At the same time, she postponed the release of the album to February 2009. On February 23, 2009, Dredg ended their contract with Interscope Records. On the same day, the name of the long-awaited album was announced: The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion.

The new labels on which the band released the album were Independent Label Group and Ohlone Recordings. The album was released on June 9, 2009 on CD and vinyl. The clips were filmed for Information and I Don't Know.

The concept of the album was based on an essay by Ahmed Salman Rushdie. Imagine There Is No Heaven: A Letter to the Six Billionth Citizen. Both the essay and the Dredg album raise questions of agnosticism, faith and society. The album cover featured artwork by Rohner Segnitz of Division Day. A characteristic feature of the album are compositions called Stamps of Origin. These are musical sketches in which vocals are extremely rare.
