E-Type (real name Bo Martin Erickson) is a Scandinavian artist. He performed in the eurodance genre from the early 1990s until the 2000s.

The childhood and youth of Bo Martin Erickson

Born on August 27, 1965 in Uppsala (Sweden). Soon the family moved to the suburbs of Stockholm. Bo Boss Erickson's father was a well-known journalist and host of the television program World of Science.

Martin also has a sister and a brother. After school, the future singer trained as a lawyer. The guy even managed to work for some time in the hospice.

Music began to get involved very early. The guy was a music lover. His pseudonym comes from a Jaguar model owned by his father. According to other sources, someone called Martin "Dendär e-typen" one day, and thus the alias E-Type was born.

For a long time he worked as a drummer in the Hexen House band. He then moved to the band Manninya Blade, from where he soon quit due to creative differences.

Fateful was the meeting with the musician Stakka Bo. The performers managed to record several joint tracks. In 1993, the artist released his first solo track I'm Falling. However, contrary to the expectations of young people, this single turned out to be a “failure”.

Released a year later, the composition Set the World on Fire was more successful. The creation of the group E-Type topped the country's main charts for many weeks. In addition to Martin, the Swedish singer Nane Hedin took part in the creation of the single. Then the artists recorded many successful compositions.

After Set the World on Fire, the artist, already recognizable in his country, repeated his success with the composition This is the Way. In the same year, the album Made in Sweden was released.

The list was mainly dance and dynamic compositions, except for one. Do You Always is performed in the ballad genre, which revealed to the listeners the unique style of E-Type's performance.

The Explorer was released in 1996. It included popular compositions of the past years, including: Angels Crying, Calling Your Name and Here I Go Again. The song Campione 2000 in the 2000s became the anthem of the World Cup.

In 2002, the next single, which was supposed to be released in March of that year, was Africa. It peaked on the charts in Sweden. The E-Type group, in addition to their musical career, also appeared in various television programs. Once Martin even had a chance to participate in the Russian TV show “Let them talk”. He also appeared on the air of the program "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" on Swedish TV.

E-Type did a series of shows in 2003 called the Eurometal Tour. There was a team that included several new faces: Johan Dereborn (bass), Mickey Dee (drummer of Motörhead, collaborating with Martin for many years and a good friend of E-type and Johan), Roger Gustafsson (guitarist who was already part of the previous tour ), Pontus Norgren (heavy rock guitarist and experienced sound engineer), Teresa Lof and Linda Andersson (vocals).

Preparing a new E-Type album

A new album was being prepared, but it was supposed to be finished no earlier than February next year. The production of the album took a little longer than expected, and Martin had already written about 10 songs for the record. The album title has not yet been decided. It was supposed to be a traditional electronic type release, with no country metal tracks. 

In 2004, Max Martin, Rami and E-Type released the single Paradise. The new album Loud Pipes Save Lives was released on March 24th.

However, Martin's successful career "went into decline". Outdated motifs were replaced by new performers with a different sound.

E-Type's latest singles have been popular. But they did not reach the same heights in the charts as earlier works. Martin recorded his last CD in 2006. In total, the artist released 6 studio records during his career.

Personal life of the artist E-Type

The performer became popular very early. Fans have always been interested in who their idol meets and lives with. The first serious relationship lasted 10 years. Little was known about the chosen one of the artist.

She did not belong to the world of show business. Despite a long relationship, the lovers never legalized their relationship. The couple met in 1999 and separated in 2009.

The artist in an interview with various publications admitted that he wants to start a family and children. But the period of the 1990s was not the best time for this. Then he was only interested in his career.

Now the heart of the star is free. He lives alone with six dogs he picked up from the street. Martin is a kind person, and even encourages his fans to pay attention to the problem of homeless animals.

E-type today

Martin has his own Viking Age themed restaurant. Since from an early age he was always fond of antiques. His country house houses weapons and armor from the Viking Age.
