Childhood and youth of the artist Ekaterina Buzhinskaya

The future favorite of the public spent her childhood in Norilsk, Russia, where she was born on August 13, 1979. When the girl was 3 years old, her parents left for Ukraine, in the city of Chernivtsi, where her grandmother lived (on the maternal side). 

Katya had an absolute ear for music and sang well, so her parents decided to send the girl to the Sonorous Voices group (at the Youth Palace). There, Katya studied with the famous vocal teacher Maria Kogos, who also taught singing Ani Lorak.

After graduating from the 9th grade of a comprehensive school, the girl decided that her further studies would be connected with music and applied to a music school in Chernivtsi. 

The beginning of a musical career

While still a student, Katya made it to the finals of the Morning Star musical project. This was followed by competitions: "Dyvogray", "Primrose", "Colorful Dreams", "Chervona Ruta", where the young singer also won prizes.

Grand Prix of the festival "Veselad" (first award) Katya received in 1994. Buzhinskaya's producer, Yuri Kvelenkov, invited her to move to the capital and start working. The girl agreed and immediately upon arrival entered the Institute named after R. M. Glier to study pop singing. Her teacher was the famous Tatyana Rusova.

In 1997, Catherine won several victories at once - the Grand Prix at the Galicia competition, a victory in the festival Through Thorns to the Stars and the title of Discovery of the Year.

In 1998, Katya decided to participate in the Slavianski Bazaar festival. For the performance, Katya chose the song "Doomed", the words to which were written by the famous Ukrainian composer Yuriy Rybchinsky. And Buzhinskaya deserved recognition and received the Grand Prix.

After the festival, the singer began to collaborate with Yuri Rybchinsky and Alexander Zlotnik. The first wrote poetry for her songs, and the second wrote music. All subsequent works of Catherine became hits. The famous director Natasha Shevchuk shot video clips for them, which for a long time took a leading position in the charts.

In 1998, Buzhinskaya received another Prometheus-Prestige award. In the same year, she pleased her fans with the release of her debut album "Music I Love". The new album "Ice" was released already in 1999. Famous figure skaters starred in the video clip for this work.

Glory and success of the singer Ekaterina Buzhinskaya

Katya Buzhinskaya received a diploma in pop songs in 2000. The following year, she represented independent Ukraine at a music competition in San Remo, where she sang the song "Ukraine" in her native language. In collaboration with the NAK label, the star released the next album, Flame. The audience was captivated by the video filmed for the hit "Romancero" by Natasha Shevchuk. The video was filmed in the ethnographic museum near Kiev and focused on the Spanish flavor and gypsy song culture. 

In 2001, Ekaterina Buzhinskaya was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.

Before maternity leave in 2006, Catherine managed to release two more successful albums - Romancero (2003) and Name Your Favorite (2005). And a year after the birth of the child, work began on recording a new album. In 2008, the artist got a personal star on the Walk of Fame in her hometown of Chernivtsi. And in 2009, she received the "Woman of the Third Millennium" award.

At the Song of the Year festival, the singer's hit "Fragrant Night" took 1st place. The joint work "Queen of Inspiration" with Stas Mikhailov has become very popular in all neighboring countries.

In 2011, Ekaterina Buzhinskaya held a grand solo concert in Kyiv. This was followed by a big tour of Europe.

Thanks to her collaboration with singer Peter Cherny, in 2013 Katya won the nomination "The Best Duet of Ukraine". And for the composition "Two Dawns" they received an award in the nomination "Pride of Ukrainian Songs".

Continuation of career

Ekaterina dedicated her new eighth album "Tender and Dear" (2014) to her beloved husband. The song "Ukraine is us", included in this album, won the "Smash Hit of the Year" festival.

Since the beginning of the conflicts in the eastern part of Ukraine, the artist has been actively involved in supporting the Ukrainian military. She was a participant in many charitable and humanitarian events. In 2015, the artist organized a tour of Europe. The money she received from the concerts was transferred to the relatives of the soldiers killed and injured in the conflict.

In the same year, Kateryna Buzhynska was awarded the title of "Voice of the World" for the development and popularization of Ukrainian music. Also, the star became the president of the charitable organization "Revival of the Carpathians".

She managed to launch the international project "Children for World Peace", which brings together 35 states. The anthem written by the singer was performed by the children's choir in front of the Pope, in the European Parliament, at the headquarters of the United Nations. In 2016, for services to the country, Buzhinskaya was awarded the Order of Unity and Will.

Personal life of the artist

Life outside the stage and charity of the singer is very stormy. She was married three times. The first husband of Catherine was her producer Yuri Klevenkov, who was 20 years older than her. The relationship was short-lived, the couple broke up due to the man's jealousy and disagreements.

Katya's second husband was the famous plastic surgeon Vladimir Rostunov, to whom she gave birth to a daughter, Elena. But eternal tours and concerts prevented personal relationships, the husband could not stand this way of life and left the family.

Ekaterina Buzhinskaya became truly happy only in her third marriage with Bulgarian businessman Dimitar Staychev. A luxurious wedding took place in the city of Sofia. In 2016, in one of the Kyiv maternity hospitals, the singer gave birth to twins.
