The group worked in one of the most popular musical genres of our time - K-pop (korean pop). This genre included elements of such genres as electropop, hip-hop, dance music, as well as an improved version of rhythm and blues.

EXID: the history of the creation of a musical project

It all started back in 2011. Then JYP Entertainment decided to create a new group. The plans of the "fathers" of EXID included the creation of a women's project. Soon, a charming girl named Yuzhi joined the new team. She invited her girlfriends Hani, Haeryeong and Junghwa to the casting. Ellie and Dami were the last to join the group.

Interestingly, the new project was originally called WT. This name did not suit everyone. A few months before the official presentation of the new South Korean project, the manager changed the name to EXID.

Literally a year later, the presentation of the first single took place. We are talking about the song Whoz That Girl. It was a great entrance to the big stage. The novelty was very warmly accepted by music lovers and authoritative music critics.

Almost immediately after the presentation of the debut single, the first changes took place in the team. They touched only the composition. Two members left the group at once: Yuji and Dami. The singers explained their departure by the desire to devote more time to study. Haeryeong followed the girls. She decided to devote herself to an acting career. The singers were replaced by Solji, who already had stage experience, and Hyerin. By the way, the latter was originally supposed to be included in the group. But her vocal data objectively seemed to the managers weaker than the voice of the other participants.

The creative path of the team

In the updated line-up, the band presented the song I Feel Good to fans, as well as the Hippity Hop EP. It cannot be said that popularity has fallen on the team. Neither beauty nor vocal abilities fascinated the audience. It was then that the management created the Dasoni sub-unit with the strongest members Hani and Solji. Their first composition Goodbye was released in 2013.

Six months later, the girls replenished the band's repertoire with a new track. It's about the Up & Down composition. The track peaked at number 94 on the Gaon Chart Top 100. The group's position changed when Hani sang the featured track during a live broadcast with fans. The composition again appeared in the prestigious charts. Moreover, she took the honorable 1st position in the Gaon Chart. The girls went on a massive tour.

Three years later, the team signed a lucrative contract with the entertainment company Banana Project. When the girls received their first fee, their fans were very excited. The "fans" suggested that the group would now work for China. In response to accusations from the group's fans, the company's representatives announced that the group's debut album would be released in China and South Korea.

Debut year for the team

In 2016, the presentation of the long-awaited LP took place. The record was called Street. The compilation was headed by the song LIE The compilation included more than 10 tracks. Most of the songs on the album were written by Ellie.

In the same year, the presentation of the Chinese single Cream took place. The composition was warmly received by fans and music critics. She topped the Billboard China V Chart. After the presentation of the track, it became known that Solji was suffering from a thyroid disease. The girl, for obvious reasons, did not go on stage until 2017. Despite the absence of one of the soloists, the group continued to delight fans with concerts.

Without Solji, the band recorded their third mini-album. The record was called Eclipse. The collection was enthusiastically received by the public. He took the 4th position in the chart, which is considered the best indicator of the team in the charts. A fifth member joined the band for the presentation of the fourth EP Full Moon. She performed on stage, starred in music videos, recorded tracks and actively participated in promotions.

A year later, it became known that the team took the direction to Japan. The team presented the third version of Up & Down to fans, and also announced several small tours. The members of the group promised that Solji, who was once again forced to leave the stage due to undergoing rehabilitation after surgery, will soon return to the group for good. For the first time after the lull, the girl went public on September 7, 2018. The girls decided to celebrate the recovery of the soloist with the presentation of the EP I Love You.

EXID today

For this period of time, the soloists of the group had a goal - to conquer Japanese music lovers. In February 2019, the band went to Japan, where they held a number of bright concerts. At the performances, the singer presented a new track. We are talking about the composition Trouble. The presented track was included in the new album.
