Girls' Generation is a South Korean collective, which includes only representatives of the weaker sex. The group is one of the brightest representatives of the so-called "Korean wave". "Fans" are very fond of charismatic girls who have an attractive appearance and "honey" voices. The soloists of the group mainly work in such musical directions as k-pop and dance-pop.
The history of the creation and composition of the Girls' Generation
The team was founded in 2007. Over the next 7 years, the composition of the team changed several times. The staff turnover only increased the interest of music lovers and fans. At the time of 2014, the group included the following members:

In the past, every girl either sang, or danced, or worked as a model or TV presenter. Initially, 12 participants were selected, but later this number was reduced to 8 people.
The creative path of Girls' Generation
The team started in 2007. Almost immediately after the creation of the group, the soloists presented their debut album. The record received the "modest" title Girls' Generation. Music critics and fans have received the work of the new South Korean team very warmly.
Before the peak of popularity, the team is only a few years away. Fame and recognition hit the group in 2009, after the presentation of the composition Gee. The song topped the local music charts. In addition, the track received the status of the most popular South Korean song of the mid-2000s.
In 2010, Girls' Generation's discography was replenished with a second studio album. It's about the Oh! Longplay tracks hit the hearts of music lovers. At the Golden Disk Awards, the group's record won the Album of the Year nomination.
A year later, the girls decided to conquer the demanding Japanese. In 2011, Girls' Generation was released, which was published specifically for the people of Japan. In the same 2011, the members of the group presented the album The Boys especially for the Korean public. The new collection became the best-selling album of this year.
Conquest by the USA group
In 2012, Girls' Generation visited the United States of America. The members of the group performed on the rating television show David Letterman. During the winter, they reappeared in the US on Live! With Kelly. This is the first team from Korea, which then shone on Western television.
In the same 2012, the band signed a lucrative contract with a French recording studio to re-record the album The Boys. The popularity of the Girls' Generation group has spread beyond the borders of their native country.
Then the girls decided to create an official subgroup, which they openly declared to their fans. The new project was named Tetiso. The members of the new project were: Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun. Mini-LP Twinkle entered the top 200 edition of Billboard. On the territory of his native country, the disc sold about 140 thousand copies.
The following year was marked by a large-scale tour. The members of the collective performed for their Korean and Japanese fans. In addition, the group continues to replenish the discography with new albums and compositions. Their videography is regularly marked by bright novelties. The band's video for the song I Got a Boy won the YouTube Music Awards. The work overtook popular American singers, among them was Lady Gaga.
In 2014, the girls went on a tour of Japan with the program Love & Peace. In the autumn of the same year, it became known that one of the brightest participants was leaving the team. It's about a singer named Jessica. From that moment on, there were 8 soloists in the team. A year later, a new single appeared on the music scene. We are talking about the composition Catch Me If You Can.
The rest of the years, the singers did not lag behind the set pace - they toured the country, recorded new tracks and video clips. In 2018, when the contract with the recording studio expired and it was necessary to renew it, it turned out that only 5 participants wanted to cooperate with the company. The three girls announced that from now on they will realize themselves as actresses. Despite this, Girls' Generation continued to exist.
Girls' Generation today
At the time of 2019, it turned out that the team was not performing at full strength. The company created a subgroup Girls' Generation - Oh! GG on the basis of the team. The new project has 5 members: Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, Yuri and Yuna. The team is very popular.
