Childhood and youth

He comes from a small town, which is located near the colorful Vienna (Austria). Franz was brought up in a poor working-class family. In addition to the gifted boy, the couple raised 6 more children. Initially, the Schubert family had 15 children, but 9 of them died in infancy.

Music was often played in the family home. The family lived very modestly, and only playing music helped to distract from problems. Father and eldest son played several musical instruments.

The boy began to study musical notation from an early age. The head of the family noticed a certain talent in his son, so he sent him to the parish school. There he mastered playing the organ and honed his vocal skills to a professional level.

Soon the guy was enrolled as a chorister in the chapel, which was located in Vienna. A little later, he was accepted into a convict (boarding school). Here he made acquaintances who also "breathed" music. Despite the general development, Schubert experienced some difficulties with the study of Latin and the exact sciences.

Around the same period of time, Franz was accepted into the imperial choir. The joy of the parents knew no bounds. They hoped for an improvement in their financial situation. Around the same time, he wrote his debut composition. When the head of the family heard about Antonio Salieri praising his son, he was finally convinced that he was a genius.

The young man went to work at a local school.

In 1816, Franz tried to get a job as a leader in a choir chapel. Despite his brilliant knowledge in the field of music, Schubert's plans were not destined to come true.

During this period of time he met Johann Fogal. Thanks to the patronage of the latter, millions of caring residents of Austria learned about Schubert's talent. Fogal performed romantic compositions to the accompaniment of Schubert.

Many said that Schubert's game was far from ideal. His skill could not be compared with Beethoven. He rarely impressed the audience with a skillful game, so Fogal still got most of the applause.

But the guy's happiness was in the search for love. The young man fell in love with the miller's daughter, but the girl could not reciprocate, preferring a competitor.
