The childhood of Fyodor Chistyakov
Fedor Chistyakov was born on December 28, 1967 in St. Petersburg. The mother did everything possible to feed her son while the father lived separately. Fedya was interested in music. In the 8th grade, he went to a circle, where he was taught to play the button accordion. According to the artist, it all started from the 1st grade, when he accidentally saw an ad for recruitment into a musical group.
Having tried himself in music, he announced to his mother about his desires to become a musician in the future. The mother accepted his decision, then sent the boy to a music school. A little later, he became interested in modern music, he began to be tormented by thoughts of creating his own group.
As a teenager, he became interested in playing the guitar. More precisely, his older cousin interested him by showing elementary melodies. The brother showed Feda about strange, but free, sincere foreign performers, about whom little was known.
At the time of adulthood, the young musician had about a dozen pieces of music. Back then, music had no special meaning. The lyrics were in the style of “What I see, I sing”, thanks to which Fedor got a great experience.
The origin of the group "Zero"
In search of new skills and knowledge, he made new friends who became his future colleagues. It was Alexei Nikolaev and Anatoly Platonov. With them, he decided to create his own group with the English name Scrap, which means garbage in translation.
Since then, the musicians began to work on honing their skills. Together they learned new knowledge in the recording circle under the guidance of Andrey Tropillo.
Initially, the group decided to call "Music of bastard files." There were other intermediate options. But after much effort, the team took a shorter and more concise name "Zero".
The debut album was recorded in 1986. In the same year, his presentation took place at the Yunost club. The performance greatly impressed the audience of that time. The group combined the incompatible - a folk and charismatic button accordion with foreign rock. In the future, even the harshest critics could not speak negatively about Uncle Fyodor.
The following years, the musicians continued to work on their work. Immediately after the first concert, the guys decided to go on their first tour of the cities of the USSR and Europe. Wherever they went, a positively charged audience was waiting for them. She wanted to hear the legendary combination of Western genre and folk instrument from Uncle Fyodor.
The band's popularity peaked in the early 1990s. Albums were released one after another, the results of the team's work were often talked about on the radio. The group, along with other rockers, often took a break, using drugs, among which were hallucinogenic mushrooms and marijuana.
The good times ended for Fyodor Chistyakov in 1992, after he stabbed his girlfriend Irina Levshakova several times in the neck. At the court session, he claimed that the victim was an evil witch, after which he was recorded as insane. While there was an investigation, he spent almost a year in the Kresty pre-trial detention center. At the end of the trial, he was sent to a psychiatric hospital, where he was treated for about a year.
Fedor Chistyakov: New Life
After severe treatment in a psychiatric clinic, Fyodor Chistyakov completely changed - he quit drinking, smoking, and started talking about God. Beginning in 1995, he joined the organization Jehovah's Witnesses.
For the next few years, he tried to relaunch his career by changing the subject. The public did not appreciate these changes, his popularity has decreased. In 1998, the group made an attempt to start all over again, but nothing happened in the final.
A new stage in life was the creation of the Bayan, Harp & Blues team. Now considerable attention has been paid to the playing of musical instruments, which cannot be called an unsuccessful intention.
Soon the musical association "Green Room" appeared, the participants of which were other famous musicians. Gathering his strength, he continued to create musical masterpieces, not chasing in search of fame or money. Because of this approach, Uncle Fedor earned great respect among his colleagues in the shop.
2005 was a difficult year for Fedor Chistyakov. Constant stress, depression and a creative crisis led to the fact that he announced the end of his creative career.
Four years later, he returned to music, immediately organizing several concerts in major cities, during which the legendary songs of the Zero group were performed in a new team consisting of their former leader and the Coffee group. According to experts, such a career recovery can be considered very successful.
Modern life of the artist Fyodor Chistyakov
Now Fedor lives in the United States of America, continuing to engage in creativity. In the summer of 2020, he dedicated his new album to Children's Day. Later, another album, The Last of the Mohicans, was released. It included several cult songs of the Zero group, which were created for the English-speaking audience.
Uncle Fedor has always been and will be one of the founders of rock compositions from the times of the USSR. He released more than a dozen albums that are popular to this day. The artist no longer uses drugs, his youthful ardor has cooled. But his style of doing unusual things and unexpected actions remained.
