George Harrison is a British guitarist, singer, songwriter and film producer. He is one of the members of The Beatles. During his career he became the author of many of the best-selling songs.
In addition to music, Harrison acted in films, was interested in Hindu spirituality and was an adherent of the Hare Krishna movement.
Childhood and youth of George Harrison
George Harrison was born on February 25, 1943 in Liverpool (England). His family was Catholic and he went to school near Penny Lane.
Harrison's early efforts at playing the guitar were a bit futile - he bought a guitar at a young age but found he couldn't figure out sound patterns. While he was experimenting with one of the screws, the tool broke.
Desperate, George hid the guitar in a closet and turned his efforts to the trumpet, where he saw a similar lack of success. One of his older brothers repaired the guitar, and on his next try, George managed to learn a few chords.
