Childhood and youth

He was born in Cannock, Staffordshire. My father and mother were very religious people. Therefore, they sent the boy to study at a Catholic educational institution.

Glenn never pleased his parents with good grades in his diary. But in a Catholic school, he had the love of his life - he became interested in music. Hughes was proficient in playing several musical instruments. After seeing the legendary Fab Four perform, he wanted to learn how to play the guitar. It took him six months to learn how to play at a professional level.

The artist had another youthful hobby - he loved football, and was even part of the school team. Together with the rest of the participants, he took part in sports competitions. Soon, music replaced sports, and therefore football was in the background.

As a teenager, Glenn changed several high schools. He never managed to get a high school diploma. Since he spent almost all his time in rehearsals.

Glenn gained his first huge popularity thanks to his work in the Trapeze group. The team has released several studio LPs. During the promotion of You are the Music, he was sent an offer by soloists from the Deep Purple collective.

Since 1976, Glenn has performed solo. The musician has been treating a severe form of drug addiction for a long 15 years. He managed to release several LPs, but all of them did not appeal to music lovers. Even more often he could be seen as a guest musician and vocalist.
