In 2019, the band delighted their fans with two singles Life in the Fast lane and Halo.

Creating a Hinder Group

The team that glorified the post-grunge style was created in 2001. Guitarist Joe Garvey and drummer Cody Hanson were behind the founding of the future rock band.

The guys quickly found the cool vocalist Austin Winkler after seeing him sing karaoke at some party.

Three hairy guys decided to combine their efforts and ideas. They needed a bass player, and they sent out ads and auditioned a few musicians.

They liked Cole Parker. He handled the bass quite skillfully, and besides, he was quite charismatic.

In this composition, the guys began to work on creating songs for concert activities. With the first material, the team began to play in small Oklahoma clubs.

They set aside the funds collected at such concerts for the professional recording of the album. When they had accumulated enough, the Far From Close EP was recorded. The disc was released in 2003.

Bassist Cole Parker left the band immediately after the recording of the debut album. He was replaced by Mike Rodden. It was also decided to invite a second guitarist. It was Mark King.

In 2003, the team took part in a competition held by the KHBZ-FM radio station. Listeners chose four finalists from 32 groups, among which was the Hinder group. However, the guys were only a few votes short of first place.

Extreme Behavior's first album

After the release of Far From Close, the band received offers from various labels. The guys chose the mega-popular company Universal and recorded the full-length disc Extreme Behavior on this label.

The disc, which was recorded on the verge of hard rock and post-grunge, was very popular with the public. The record sold well in the US. The album took 6th position in the main hit parade of the country.

The guys went on their first large-scale tour. Rock heroes quickly became popular with heavy music lovers.

A year after the first full-length album, the second LP, Take It To The Limit, was released. The musicians changed direction to glam metal. They even brought in guitarist Motley Crue for this.

Mick Mars, who knew a lot about this genre, helped with the recording of several guitar parts. The disc peaked at number 4 on the Billboard charts and received positive reviews from critics. The guys have noticeably increased the number of "fans".

The next stage in the history of the Hinder team was the participation in the tour with the band Motley Crue. The team, together with Theory Of a Deadman and Las Vegas, provided excellent support to the legendary glam metalists.

The following year, Hinder released a new album, All American Nightmare. The disc was a continuation of the previous release, but the guys decided to make the sound heavier. The album peaked at #1 on the Alternative Albums chart of Billboard magazine.

Departure of Austin Winkler

In 2012, another disc, Welcome to the Freakshow, was released. The group pleased with the signature sound. The ballad compositions were especially warmly welcomed.

But for the vocalist of the band it was not the best time. Winkler used hard drugs and ended up in a rehabilitation center. Hinder began touring with guest vocalists.

Three years later, Austin Winkler finally left the band. The musicians decided to find a worthy replacement for him. Marshal Dutton was chosen to replace the band's frontman.

At the same time, another change took place in the group. The guys changed label to The End Records. Then came the new album When The Smoke Clears.

The signature sound, consisting of post-grunge and glam metal, delighted fans again. But not all "fans" positively met the change of the vocalist. Dutton's voice was better, but Winkler's signature rasp was missing.

Although in the history of rock music there has not yet been a single case when a vocalist change in a popular band went smoothly. However, Marshal managed to win the hearts of new "fans". Therefore, over time, the change that occurred even benefited the group.

In 2016, Hinder released an acoustic album in which the musicians delighted their fans with drive and energy.

Following the acoustics, the album The Reign was recorded, which was not as successful as the previous albums, but the band continues to tour and delight their fans.
