Childhood and youth of Doro Pesh

Today, every heavy metal fan knows a blonde with a bright appearance and beautiful vocals. But as a child, the future star was not going to associate herself with music.

Doro dreamed of breaking records in sports or becoming a famous artist, but after listening to Janis Joplin's records, past hobbies quickly disappeared.

Pesh understood who she wanted to be, and began to develop vocal abilities in herself. She became one of the few representatives of the fair sex who found themselves on the "heavy" stage.

She was applauded by stadiums and large halls. For the first time, Doro Pesch announced herself in the 1980s of the last century. She proved that "heavy" rock can be melodic and have a feminine face.

Dorothy Pesch was born on June 3, 1964 in Düsseldorf. Her mother was a housewife and her father was a truck driver. The family was very fond of good music, and Doro was brought up on the songs of Tina Turner, Neil Young and Chuck Berry.

During her college years as a graphic designer, Dorothy suffered from a severe form of tuberculosis. Doctors advised to develop the lungs with the help of singing.

Probably, they could not even imagine that this hobby will result in a great career. Moreover, Pesh already had idols, whose songs she slowly sang at home.

Dorothy first appeared on stage when she was 16 years old. She became the vocalist of the band Snakebite. This group consisted of Pesh's college classmates.

With the help of this team, the singer learned more about her vocal abilities, and at the same time learned to play keyboard instruments.

When Pesh outgrew her partners, she decided to pursue a career in a more serious project. They became a team called Attack.

Dorothy later formed the Warlock team with several members of this group. With the name of this group, many associate the singer. The team managed to exist for only 6 years and recorded four albums.

Doro's musical style and creative success

The Warlock group had a significant following. In terms of popularity, the band could compete with such monsters of the "heavy" scene as Judas Priest and Manowar.

The band's listeners couldn't understand how a petite blonde (160 cm, 52 kg) could have such a powerful vocal.

However, the first disc of Burningthe Witches was not commercially successful. But the following albums Hellbound and True as Steel became mega-popular and elevated Doro Pesch to the rank of the best vocalists in the metal scene.

After the concert at Monsters of Rock, Doro Pesch became known to the whole world. She became the first girl to perform at this legendary festival.

In 1989, the team broke up. Pesh decided to resume performing under the promoted name. Moreover, she came up with the name of the group herself.

But the American lawyers of the record label with which the contract was signed won the case in court. Pesch organized her group Doro and registered the name as a trade brand.

And due to the fact that the singer was directly involved in composing many compositions of the past repertoire, she was allowed to sing Warlock songs.

Debut album Doro

The debut album is called Doro. Unfortunately, the fashion for real music began to wane. The album was not commercially successful. But Pesh did not stop there and recorded two more albums.

The sound became a little lighter, not only energetic "action films" appeared, but also melodic ballads. But the audience already needed dance rhythms and primitive texts.

Doro began to look even more closely at the world of cinema, even starred in the TV series Forbidden Love. But in 2000 she returned to the music scene with the album Calling the Wild.

One of the successful works of Doro Pesh was the soundtrack for the movie "Bad Blood". A video clip was shot for the composition, which deals with children running away from home. The video for the song at the MTV Awards was recognized as the best anti-racist video.

In 2016, Pesch recorded the mini-album Love's Gone To Hell. She dedicated it to the departed Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister.

Doro successfully gave several concerts in honor of the 30th anniversary on stage. The singer likes to come to the countries of the former USSR. Here she has a significant army of "fans".

Personal life of the singer

Doro Pesch is single and has no intention of tying the knot. She not only has no husband, but also no children. From an early age, the girl decided to devote herself to music and adheres to this rule to this day.
