In 2020, the Istochnik team really took off. The musicians expanded their discography with the LP Pop Trip, which became the most capacious manifesto of 2020, the year of soul-searching and delving into oneself. The musicians have changed their style, but they have not changed themselves. The tracks of the "Source" remained the same original and memorable.
The history of creation and the composition of the team "Istochnik"
У The origins of the formation of the team are the talented guitarist Andrey Tarasov and bass guitarist Leonid Iordanyan. The duo founded the team in 2017. The guys immediately declared that "The Source" is a multi-vocal and multi-instrumental project. Musicians are constantly experimenting with genres and sound, so they manage to create really trendy compositions.
Before the release of the second disc in a row, the team expanded to a trio. The musician Ivan Mayatsky joined the composition. Having taken part in the recording of the collection, and having played several rounds, Ivan left the project. He made an informed decision. As it turned out, creative differences began within the team, which led him to the decision to leave the project. Mayatsky's place was empty for a long time. Soon a new member joined the group. We are talking about Anton Evseev. He skated with the team only one mini-tour.
At this time, the duet is assisted by musicians Vlad Chernin, Anton Brunov, Mitya Emelyanov, as well as vocalists Nino Papava and Polina Sazonova.
Lyrics are most often written by Andrey. In one of the interviews, the musicians said that each of the band members takes an active part in the stage of writing musical works.
The creative path of the team "Istochnik"
The guys rocked the band in the genre of indie punk with emo-rock intonations. The musicians were inspired by the rich heritage of the Russian bands Pasosh and Buerak.
In 2017, the group's discography was replenished with a debut EP. We are talking about the work "Springtime". In the wake of the acceptance of the debut work by the public, the musicians presented the album "Maybe the truth will end like this." In honor of this event, they organized a solo concert in a nightclub in their city.
A year later, the repertoire of the "Source" was replenished with a new single. We are talking about the composition "When?". In the same year they went to the "EMO :(tour". It should be noted that within the framework of the tour the musicians visited 10 cities of the Russian Federation.
In 2018, the musicians presented their second LP. The collection was called "So I imagined everything in my childhood." The tracks of the record were imbued with a depressive mood. Despite this, the LP was warmly received by "fans" and authoritative music publications.
In the period of 2018-2019, the musicians visited the stage of the main Russian festivals. In 2019, the presentation of the track "New Yours" took place, in the recording of which the Pasosh group took part. And in March of the same year, the premiere of the song "Pu!" After that, Istochnik went on another mini-tour that covered Russia.
In 2020, the musicians presented the single "Drops of Blood" (with the participation of the team "Tima is looking for light"). In the same year, the artists released a capsule DIY collection of merchandise. True fans decided to support idols. The musicians said that in the first few weeks of the start of sales, most of the things were sold out.
Presentation of the album Pop Trip
The musicians didn't stop there. In 2020, the presentation of the group's third studio album took place. The record was called Pop Trip. Longplay was recorded in the style of hippies. The band's fans definitely did not expect such kind and peaceful tracks from the musicians. Many guest artists worked on the album.
The guys had a need for a new sound. They suddenly realized that they want to create something that will be remembered by the fans. Before starting the creation of the third studio, the Istochnik members listened to compositions in the genre of rap, jazz, r'n'b, funk.
The lack of freedom and self-confidence is the main theme that the musicians tried to reveal in the third LP. The compositions tell about anxiety, suspiciousness and fears that drive any person deep into themselves.
"Source" in the present time period
At sunset in 2020, the musician with the track "Habits" took part in the filming of the short film "New Year's Numbers". The work was appreciated by the fans.
On January 28, the band performed several tracks from the latest studio album live on the MTS Live studio. On February 9, 2021, the musicians visited the Evening Urgant studio. On the stage, the guys performed the track "Shell".
In 2021, the guys went on the Pop Tour. This time they have significantly expanded the geography. The musicians will play concerts in major cities of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
