The history of the group began with the usual desire of three musicians to create their own group. The "golden composition" of the group "Bricks": Vasya V., who was responsible for the guitar and vocals, Danila (MASTA) - bass, vocals, and Zhenya (Jay) - percussion instruments, vocals.

The first concert of the group took place in the same 1995. The group "Bricks" performed in the St. Petersburg House of Pioneers. It is noteworthy that at that time the musicians performed under the creative pseudonym Bricks Are Heavy. The future hit of "Bike" was also called Biker, respectively.

Of today's members of the Kirpichi group, only Vasya Vasin, Stanislav Sytnik (bass) and Kirill Solovyov (drums) were in the rap-rock group. The first performance and self-presentation were held at "5+".

In 1996, the composition of the team underwent the first changes. In the end, the team was transformed into a trio. The permanent line-up included: Vasya Vasin, as well as Danila Danny Boy Smirnov and Evgeny (UJ) Nazarov.

The last two soloists managed to work in the Russian bands Numb Paramour and Skyhog. The musicians made the first recordings of compositions in 1996 with the money of Vasya's father at the Tropillo studio.

Signing a contract with "SHOK-Records"

In 1996, the SHOK-Records recording studio offered the musicians to sign a contract. The label owners promptly approached the recording of the debut album. Soon there was also a video clip for the track "Bayka".

Thanks to the release of the video on television, the musicians gained their first recognition and popularity. The first album was called "Bricks are Heavy Live". But more than six months have passed from its recording to the presentation. The collection received mixed reviews from music critics, but music lovers were delighted with the "light songs" with a simple meaning.

In the same 1996, the group "Bricks" became a participant in the music festival "New Wave of St. Petersburg Rock". At the festival, the musicians were awarded the title "Discovery of the Year". At the same time, the trio were presented with another surprise "CACTUS" - an award for the best debut of the year among club groups in St. Petersburg.

At the festival "Learn to swim!", which took place in 1997, the band presented a new track "Tormented by the bastards." The song became an instant hit. Everyone sang it: from teenagers to more mature music lovers. A wave of popularity hit the team.

Soon the group "Bricks" together with the band Nautilus Pompilius took part in a concert that was dedicated to the year of broadcasting radio "Europe Plus" in the city of Vyborg.

Popular Russian musicians drew attention to the trio. One of the most significant events of that time was the group's participation in the Generation-96 festival. In 1997, Program A recorded a solo performance by the group at Shabolovka.

Presentation of the album "Death at the rave"

In the late 1990s, a new era began in the history of the band - Danila, Jay and Vasya began to rap, alternating between rap and rock concerts. Around the same time, thanks to Gala Records, the guys released their second studio album, Death on the Rave.

The disc includes the already popular tracks "Tortured by the bastards", as well as "I spit", on which a video clip was shot.

In 1999, the radio program "Our Ghetto" appeared on the radio "Record", which was devoted to 90% of rap music, sometimes there were mentions of rock and metal.

Initially, the program was recorded by all members of the "Bricks" group, then only Danila and Jay, and then Danila alone remained at all. Then, not only fans of rap, but also the work of the group gathered near the radio. The soloists not only talked about rap culture, but also cheered up the listeners (with high-quality humor).

Release of the third studio album

In 1999, at the recording studio Gala Records, the musicians recorded their third album, Capitalism 00. The record is fully sustained in rap style. The album appeared in music stores only in 2000.

The reason for the delay in the release of the collection is by no means hidden in technical reasons, the fact is that on February 18, 2000, Jay, the drummer and MC of the Kirpichi group, died. For the soloists, this event was a great personal tragedy.

As it turned out later, Jay had been using hard drugs for a long time. The musician died of a heroin overdose.

On March 30, 2000, a concert in memory of Zhenya Nazarov was held at the Spartak club. In addition to the group "Bricks", the bands Tequilajazzz, IFK, "NOM", "Cradle", "Dzhan Ku" performed on the stage of the club.

Evgeny's place was taken by drummer Svetlana Terentyeva (before that she played in the Buttweizer band). When Terentyeva left the team, Vadim "The Nose" Latyshev replaced her.

Presentation of the fourth studio album "The Power of the Mind"

In 2002, the group's discography was replenished with the fourth disc. We are talking about an album with a "loud" name "The Power of the Mind". The soloists themselves said that the "Power of the Mind" is "DIY, a product in the style of Lo-Fi Core ...".

“Let's say that The Power of the Mind is a collection of a resurgent generation of musical revolutionaries. The tracks of the album are aimed at people of different age categories who are dissatisfied with the current situation. After listening to the tracks of the collection, everyone will be able to catch themselves thinking: “And this is about me”…”.

The collection was warmly received by both fans and music critics. In the same year, a video clip for the track "Schoolchildren" was shot in an ordinary secondary school.

Music lovers really liked the track "Jedi". The composition took the top of many radio charts. In 2004, at a communist demonstration in the same St. Petersburg, under the leadership of Vasya Vasin, a video clip was shot for this track.

In 2004, the musicians presented their next album, Let's Rock!. This year a new guitarist Ivan Ludevig joined the band.

The music in this collection returned to the "golden" times of grunge. Some noted that the album turned out to be lyrical, and even personal.

There are few political topics in this collection, but anyway, the guys could not do without these topics. Be sure to listen to the song "No one ever nothing to anyone" with a pronounced protest "You are one against all!" and The Working Class of the World.

The group "Bricks" surprised fans with productivity. 2005 was marked by the release of the collection "Tsar's Album". The main advantage of the disc is the lyrical sound.

And if earlier the musicians sang and played about “women and boobs”, then the new album is a collection about a great and bright feeling of love. Soon a bright video clip was released for the track "Tsar". The musicians defined the genre of the new collection as follows:

“We read relaxed texts accompanied by live unsampled music. In the collection, fans will find many songs about love and other “nonsense”…”.

In 2008, the group's discography was replenished with the eighth album "Stones". The presentation of the record took place in the St. Petersburg club "Tochka". The collection contains 14 tracks in total.

2010 was also not without a new album. The group "Bricks" recorded the ninth album in a row. Soon, fans were enjoying the tracks of the New Kirpy Moo Fok record.
