Real name is Kirre Gorvell-Dahl, a fairly popular Norwegian musician, DJ and songwriter. Known under the pseudonym Kaigo. He became world famous after an enchanting remix of the Ed Sheeran song I See Fire.
Childhood and youth Kirre Gorvell-Dal
Born on September 11, 1991 in Norway, in the city of Bergen, in an ordinary family. Mom worked as a dentist, dad worked in the marine industry.
In addition to Kirre, the family brought up his three older sisters (one of them was a half-sister) and a younger half-brother. Due to his father's work, he lived with his family during his childhood in Japan, Egypt, Kenya and Brazil.
The boy began to show an early interest in music, and from the age of 6 he began to play the piano. Thanks to this and watching videos on Youtube at the age of 15-16, I became interested in creating and recording music using a MIDI keyboard and a special Logic Studio software package.
Studied after leaving school in Edinburgh, at the university majoring in business and finance. But about half the time of study, I realized that I wanted to devote myself to music and devote maximum time to it.
Kaygo's musical career
Kaigo made people talk about himself in 2012, when his first compositions appeared on Youtube. In 2013, he released his first single for the song "Epsilon".
In the following 2014, a new song by Firestone was released, this single was appreciated and received worldwide recognition.
Which is not surprising, a talented novice musician worked with "dedication". The musician had over 80 million views and downloads on Sound Cloud and Youtube, and this is an undoubted success.
Then there was a stage of collaboration between Kaigo and Swedish singer Avicii and Cold Play lead vocalist Chris Martin. The singer created popular remixes for the most famous compositions of these artists.
Working on these remixes, at the same time he performed at Avicii's concert in Oslo "as the opening act", this event further contributed to the development of the popularity of the young musician.
And in 2014, during the Tomorrow World festival, he replaced Avicii on the main stage, during a long illness of the latter.
In the same year, he gave an interview to Billboard magazine, spoke about his plans for writing music and what he was going to tour in North America. Then he signed a contract with the famous recording monsters Sony International and Ultra Music.
A song he wrote called ID became the theme song of the Ultra Music Festival, and later became the soundtrack to the popular video game FIFA 2016.
2015 was marked by two major events - the second single of the singer Stole the Show was released, which in just a month was downloaded more than 1 million times.
And in the summer the third single was released, to which Kygo wrote the music, and the vocals in it sounded from the famous Will Herd. This third single topped all Norwegian music charts.
At the end of 2015, together with the English singer Ella Henderson, he released the fourth single Here For You, and just a month later (produced by the Norwegian William Larsen) the fifth single for the song Stay was released.
In December 2015, Kaigo became one of the most downloaded musicians, his songs were recognized by hundreds of thousands of "fans" around the world.
After the release of the last single, the musician announced his intention to carry out a world tour in support of the release of his debut album, which was scheduled for release in February 2016.
However, the Cloud Nine album was released only in May 2016, and three more singles were timed to coincide with its release: Fragile with Timothy Lee Mackenzie, Raging, which appeared as a result of a fruitful collaboration with the Irish band Kodaline, and the third I Am in Love, which featured vocals by James Vincent McMorrow.
In 2016, he launched his own branded fashion line, Kygo Life. Items from this collection can be purchased on sale in Europe, the United States of America, and also in Canada.
He performed with a famous American singer at the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2017, Kygo recorded a duet song with famous singer Selena Gomez, It Ain't Me. In April of the same year, as a result of collaboration with the English singer Ella Goulding, a new single First Time was released.
In September 2917, a single was released after a collaboration with the most popular group U2, as a remix of the song of this group.
In October of the same year, the musician announced the release of his second album, Kids in Love, on a social network, and it was released on November 3. As a result of the release of the album, a tour was also announced in support of it.
2018 was marked by a new joint project with the American group Imagine Dragons, the result was the composition Born To Be Yours.
At the end of the year, in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment and his manager, Kaigo created the Palm Tree Records label to support young talented musicians.
Musician's personal life
Officially, Kaigo is not married, but has been in a relationship with Maren Platu since 2016. According to him, while the career of a musician is more important for him than family and children. He loves football, a fan of the Manchester United team.
